The paragraph below was found in The Right Ear section of the April 12, 1996 issue of Human Events:
According to reporters Jack Anderson and Michael Binstein, Sen. John Kerry (D.-Mass.) got a little out of hand last month in fund-raising efforts for his campaign this fall against Massachusetts Gov. William Weld. Kerry on the Senate floor after a rollcall vote, reportedly grabbed Robert Asher, a lobbyist for the American Israel Political Action Committee, led him into a room and demanded more support from the group. According to the Anderson-Binstein story, Asher told Kerry, "I'm helping you," but the senator clutched Asher's right arm and said, "We need more help. We need it more than ever." What makes the incident particularly interesting is that soliciting funds on federal property is a violation of federal law. While a Kerry spokesman confirmed the essence of the conversation and admitted that Kerry had previously asked Asher to hold a fund-raiser for him, Asher denied that the senator had broken any rules with the conversation on the Senate floor. "The word 'money' was never said. That's your interpretation."

Perhaps Kerry was asking Asher to help him crush tomatoes...yeah, right!

God bless Bob Dole and NOTHING against, him, he is a great man. But when Bob Dole was the one who ran for president a few years ago, it was like it was "his time" to run. That seems to be the way with Kerry. I don't think the demonscrapping are all that excited by him. Dean was THEIR man. They just want someone who they think can beat President Bush. They aren't fired up about John Hanoi Jane Kerry. Rush says that the DNC is just keeping Edwards in the race for now to keep up the news coverage. There is so little excitement about Kerry as their candidate that they need the hoopla surrounding a two man race to keep it interesting.....
