I can't recall any federal judge getting removed. All you can hope for in changing the judiciary is long term control of the white house and senate. You can have a revolution in the House in 2 years but changing the federal judiciary takes 2 decades.

Good post. I agree 100%.

It's nice to see that some people still believe in the consistant application of principles....not just when it suits their personal preferences.

I think Alcee Hastings, that despicable cretin from Florida, was a federal judge. He was impeached, thank God!

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said the appointment was "a constitutional response to an unconstitutional filibuster."

Great response..facts always triumph in the end..

"Actions like this show the American people that this White House will stop at nothing to try to turn the independent federal judiciary into an arm of the Republican Party," Leahy said.

Memo to Sen. Leahy: SCREW YOU!

I hope Bush's statement in making this appointment means that Senate obstruction, and the nature of those in the judiciary, will be a major campaign issue for Bush this year. The big issue in SF isn't so much the marriage of gay couples, but is an issue screaming for the Republicans to condemn as an example of the way liberals spit on the laws of this nation.
