Has anyone done a study of the rate of loss of people who served in Vietnam versus the losses sustained in training as a combat pilot? I'll bet W was in more danger every time he climbed into the cockpit than Kerry ever was.

Actually, The President probably was in more danger, statisically. I think he flew Delta Daggers. Anyways, they were old intercepters designed to fly fast and furious (but were not all weather aircraft, but interceptors don't have a choice when to fly)... and were old then, but they were the best we had until the F-4 and later the F-15 came along to intercept bombers at 3am, in any weather.
