February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Well, right now sleep does not feel necessary as I read this thread. But when I must feel, act and look alive beginning at 6 a.m. after having no sleep or just a little sleep, that is when sleep suddenly feels very necessary in retrospect.

But, I am taking your good advice right now. Good night!

The front panel of my old Heathkit H-8 radiated so much trash that it could be heard on a 2-meter handheld with a rubber duck at 150 feet. I created primitive computer "music" using an AM radio to receive deliberately timed loops in 8080 assembler. A good spook shop can pick off Ethernet and keyboard controller emissions.

I made a service call on a tuna boat one day. The skipper complained of an awful buzz on his Collins HF receiver. My assistant was re-installing a VHF radio in the crow's nest. When I picked up the phone to call him, the "dial tone" buzz matched the buzz in the receiver. I traced the problem to a clipping diode across the dial tone generator. An .01 uF cap across the diode cleared the problem. Dumb luck on that one.

FairOpinion it had to be Fox News Live. It was after Fox and Friends and before Linda Vesta.

No kidding. How come the jihadis hate the US so much when other countries have just as many, if not more, temptations for those oh-so-repressed poor moslem men?

Victoria's Secret has nothing on Luiza, the girl from Rio, in that pic.

"Understud? Rummy's a stud ;)"

I KNEW you women had a thing for him. What chance do we mortals have against a man with such ZOT powers?
(jealous grumbling)

Seriously, if the man stays in good health he would be an excellent Republican presidential candidate. No one can dispute that he hasn't devoted his life to our country.

That's an important little tid-bit. Did he say where he thought Bin Laden was?

MI has been saying that OBL is in Iran. MI has been saying this since November 2003.

the feast; the happy meal; the gift (present)

It coincides with Ash Wednesday?! What time does it begin say Eastern time? Our happy meal and feast is Easter

Mardi Gras (2/24)
Ash Wednesday (2/25)
Islamic New Year (3/5)

Because the Muslim calender is lunar the year is 354 Days long. Days begin at sunset

According to the Muslim calender, we are now in the early 15th century because the years are counted from the date of Muhammad's hijra.

So spring 1996 A.D. is 1417 A.H. on the Muslim calender

February 22 - Islamic New Year
Eid Al-Adha ("The Feast of the Sacrifice")
This holiday is then celebrated in much the same way as Eid Al-Fitr - with good food, gifts for children and general merrymaking.

As the Muslim day begins at sunset, so do the holidays. The Gregorian dates given in this site are for the day of the feast, so in Western calendar terms, the feast can be said to begin at sunset on the evening before the date given.

13. Go to the planetarium
If you're an astronomy or science buff, this is a great place to go with a friend, especially a Muslim one, to find out more about moonsighting and to marvel at Allah's creation of the planets, stars and galaxy.
