You asked what Kerry said about the death penalty...
On ABC's website it says that Kerry was asked about the death penalty for child killers. He answered something like "I would like to put my hands around his neck and strangle him, but I only support the death penalty for terrorists". DUH! Funny that he voted in the past against death for terrorists who killed Americans overseas. Of course, he wasn't running for president then and Osama Bin Ladin wasn't the face of 9/11. This won't wash.
As the former Atty General to Michael Dukakis, it is only natural that Kerry gave an answer similar to that his old boss gave in 1988 against GHW Bush. Dukakis was asked in a debate if his wife, Kitty, was raped and murdered, would he be for the death penalty. With no emotion at all, he said "no" and gave some nerdy answer. I can still hear his emotionless voice even now. Dukakis was finished.
Kerry is going to have a problem with the death penalty issue just like Dukakis did as Jeff Greenfield CNN said tonight.

I didn't hear the debate. Did Kerry say this, or are you doing a parody of Mondull's "He won't tell you. I just did."?
To: ntnychik
The latter. But Kerry has committed to repealing the Bush tax cuts "for the wealthy." I.e., raising taxes.

" Someone with TIVO or who is willing to watch the rerun tonight needs to watch Kerry when he's NOT responding to a question. He either moves his lips while practicing his response, or he's got a little Gollum syndrome going..."
I did not watch tonight's side show. But, on previous debates, I absolutely noticed Kerry talking to himself, when the camera was on someone else. And hunching his shoulders up and down. And wearing the most grotesque frozen grin, when the topic was dead children or something equally inappropriate. It's amazing how the media pretends not to notice when Kerry is in Cuckooland.

Dean didn't get any votes, and for that matter neither is Edwards.
We are concentrating on a single tree rather than the fact that there is no forest. Just a few struggling trees here and there.

To me, Kerry always looks like he's spent time with an undertaker.

What's with all the hair appointments? A Dem told me we were in an economic decline thanks to Pres Bush. I've been having bad hair days ever since. /sarcasm/

Now I know why Pro-America crowds don't get much media attention. The picture only shows your average Real Americans. We need some freaks. That is how a crowd of five lefties gets all the media coverage.
Marking for later review of Freeper commentary....

OK, put on Today Show briefly this morning and Matt Lauer introduced Chris Matthews to discuss politics, and Lauer did say along the lines that Kerry is for the death penalty for terrorists, but not in general, so I did hear correctly. What everybody is basing that assertion on is a mystery. I'll assume it's yet another case of Kerry voting one way, but saying something else on the campaign trail.
FWIW, Matthews thought his anti-death penalty stance will hurt him in the general election.
