But if you want to defend a snuff film, have fun.Damn! What is with the strawmen around here?
Is every film where where a death is acted out a "snuff film?"
Or only films that have to do with Christianity?

The dialect of Aramaic that Jesus spoke has indeed become extinct.

That's curious... on what do your base your faith in the Bible's historical accuracy if you call yourself an agnostic? Logic helps. Do you have to be a Christian to have "faith" in Roman historian's accounts of the same period?

such as when you privilege the Bible over other historic texts.I don't see where Qwinn has done so. Do you have historical texts that deny Jesus' crucifiction?
They were written after the fact of Jesus' death in a specific political and cultural environment.
Uhh, most historians write about events after they happen. In specific political and cultural environments as well. You are trying to insinuate that the Gospels shouldn't be used as historical texts in any way, even on the most basic facts. Be honest.

You cannot legitimately claim to be an agnostic and speak of "human rights" in the same breath. Why not? Do your Christian beliefs of how people should be treated not follow logic?

the film is supposed to be historically accurateI've never seen this claim. I've seen the claim that it is Biblically accurate though.

biblically accurate in this case means it doesn't show anything that the bible contradicts, and there are no theological elements in it that are not backed up by the bible.
To: Heyworth; lonevoice
I would logically assume that each country would translate the English subtitles, not the Aramaic.

Oh yes, the "there's no logic or reason unless you believe a God-man made himself a sacrifice to please his Father and to erase all of the world's sin" bullscite.
I wonder how the ancient Greeks managed.

Sorry if it came off that way. I just wanted to point out that there was a lot more going on then what was on the surface.
