Rolling Stone's Richest Rock Stars list, which features the top 50 earners in the industry, is topped by a gaggle of aging hippies.
Numero Uno: Mick Jagger's band of merry pranksters, the Rolling Stones, who made $84.1 million in '03. They're trailed by Bruce Springsteen (the Boss raked in $81.7 million); the Eagles are No. 3 with $62.9 million; the youthful Dixie Chicks nabbed fourth place with $39.8 million; and No. 5 is the headbanging band Metallica, which earned $39.1 million.
For folks who track such things, the highest-ranking minority on the list is Christina Aguilera at No. 14, with $29.7 million, while the top rapper is Ice Cube, at No. 18 with $25.7 million.

Nothing but ugly old broads on that list.

Yeah, but where are they now? They aren't doin too well from what I have heard. Their next big gig will be this July at the Democratic Convention where they are guaranteed not to be booed, but adored. Natalie will most likely be introducing the PIAPS as the next POTUS...

Well, this certainly flies in the face of a series of interviews done with the Ditzies by Dan Rather several months ago, where all Natalie Maines and her other group members complained about how all the money they make goes to their agents, managers, execs & lawyers. Who to believe?
Oh well, consistency and honesty were never the leftmedia's strong points...

Concert tickets and CD pre-orders occured before the "fateful" comments. Let's see where they end up in '04.

It is like the baseball strike in the 1994 that change Congress that allowed the sports nut to pay attention. 1995 came and the fan went back to the game and shut off government. The blind fans were mad for a month and went right back to the Dixie bitches. Wake up Sheeple and stop paying the Dixie bitches.

OK, which one of you FReepers is responsible for this? This amount is largely due to the concert tour which was sold out BEFORE the group decided to go public with hatred for America.

Probably the publicity from the boycott.
There's no such thing as bad publicity.
Or as William Gillette (or some other actor) said about a bad review: "Did they spell my name right?"

Hey, all you victimized Lefties, spend money on my music to protest Bush!
Really, spending money on the Dixie Chicks is the supreme act of self-victimization.

Does anybody watch Judging Amy? That really good looking, if a bit wooden, guy who's currently courting Amy (she of the too tight pants) turns out to be Natalie's hubby.
I don't think that's fair!

Like Dog Gone said, that cash was from their sold-out "Top Of The World" tour. Their shows sold out, then they made their money, and that was it.
They released a live album this year, but it bombed rather badly (A live album by a top group usually hangs around the charts a little bit, their's was a long time gone). It isn't on the top 100 albums chart, but they are at #12 on the country album chart.
Toby Keith's new one (featuring the hit song 'American Soldier') is at #21 on the billboard album chart, and his last one is at #79 (after only 83 weeks on the chart). He's ranked #2 and #6 on the country album chart.
In the past six months, I've heard one Dixie Chicks song on the 5 country radio stations I listen to between Kansas City and Saint Joseph, MO. They're ostracized, bay-bee!

Exactly. Their only profile gigs will be to support the Dems, digging their hole deeper still.

A lot of their revenue was from their tour, and almost all of the tickets had been sold before they got truly outrageous and offended so many of their fans. If they had offered full refunds for tickets to all who wanted them, I think they would have fallen off the bottom of this list.

She's as hispanic as my golden retriever.

Me, partially...just goes to show that, unless they are running for office, someone's political views, doesn't have much to do with their product.

the top rapper is Ice Cube, at No. 18 with $25.7 million. Now that's interesting too! I wonder what this is based upon. He surely made most of that from movies, and I'd bet Puffy made way more than that from all his ventures.
