Eighty-one percent of sex crimes committed against children by Roman Catholic priests during the past 52 years were homosexual men preying on boys, according to a comprehensive study released yesterday on the church's sex abuse crisis.

The John Jay study was commissioned 20 months ago by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in response to hundreds of sex-abuse accusations that were made in nearly every U.S. Catholic diocese. It covered the years from 1950 to 2002 and found 10,667 cases of abuse.

Mr. Donahue of the New York Catholic League stated last year that he saw NO problem at all with homosexual priests.

At that point I began to realize that true change was unlikely any time soon.

The Blue Army maintains that the third secret revealed to Sr. Lucia at Fatima was that the Church would experience a great apostasy and crisis of faith of a magnitude unseen since the Reformation began; and that this apostasy would be perpetrated on the Church from within, caused by a deviant one-third of the clerical class. I see more and more evidence of this happening every year.

Consider the damage to the Church that liberal clerics and their misguided policies have done with Vatican II. Consider the theological upheavals against traditional practice that are undermining the Church caused by this failed ecumenical attempt. Consider that the greatest charge leveled against Gibson and his "Passion" is his love for the Tridentine Mass.

Consider that so many of the most repugnant political figures in our country claim to be Catholics (Daschle, Leahy, Biden, Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi). Consider that the Catholic Church has always been in the pocket of the Democrat Party, which is the party of abortion, euthanasia, homosexual perversity, cloning, and so many other social pathologies. And that the Church continues to allow itself to be used by these people to legitimize themselves for political purposes.

The clerical class of the Catholic Church has certainly made a mess of things. We are definitely witnessing the iniquity of the mystery of evil in the Church today.

"Bishops are scapegoating gay priests and this is just a way for bishops to deflect tension from their inability to protect children in their care,"

Welcome to Bizzaro world again. The only sure fire way for the church to "protect children" from homosexual abuse is to de-frock and expel the predatory homosexual priests---and that is precisely what they will not even allow to be discussed or considered.

Pathetic.

What is truly shameful is that every catholic in America was unwittingly complicit in this pattern of behavior.

Every time a donation was given it enabled the crimes to continue. Over a half Billion dollars was squandered on the sexual lusts of 4,392 men.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Finally an article that tells it like it is - it's HOMOSEXUAL priests who molest boys, not pedophiles. And why? Because homosexuals notoriously are attracted to young adolescent boys thoughout history. It's part of the perversion. That's why celibacy is not the issue, homosexuals infiltrating the Catholic Church is the issue.

Let me know if you want on or off this ping list.

This has been happening for a long time and the CC PROTECTS it's own. If they press too hard on the brothers and priest, they could be outted themselves. Forty some years ago I worked for a CC organization called GUEST HOUSE and you would not belive the cover-ups then.

"Do we need to get rid of gays in the priesthood?"

Absolutely. Saint Paul in his letter to the Romans - and I believe we can take the Apostle to the Gentiles as an adequate authority? - And Paul's letter to the Romans as second only to the Gospels as the source of written truth? - has much to say on our subject in Chapter 1.

(18) "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth. (19) For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. (20) Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse; (21) for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. (22) Claiming to be wise, they became fools; (23) and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles. (Mental images resembling things of this world, products of their imagination, inner images of worldly desires, of lust.)

(24) Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, (25) because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

(26) For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, (27) and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.

(28) And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done. (29) They were filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, craftiness, they are gossips, (30) slanderers, God-haters, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, rebellious toward parents, (31) foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. (32) They know God's decree, that those who practice such things deserve to die--yet they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them."

Anyone care to dispute the truth here? Not me.

"Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!"

Homosexual acts are caused by a fundamental rejection of God.

There are "many outstanding priests of a homosexual orientation who live chaste, celibate lives," Mr. Bennett said, "but ... more than 80 percent of the abuse at issue was of a homosexual nature." "There's an incredibly incongruity of a man of the cloth engaging in this type of conduct. How did they get into the priesthood?"

Mr. Bennett states a theory-that "There are many outstanding priests of a homosexual orientation", which contains two unproven antecedents, first, that "homosexual orientation" can be used to classify persons in the same manner that "male" and "female" can, and second, that the existence in a person of something called "homosexual orientation" is not a bar to being an outstanding priest.

The theory of #1 has to be true in order for #2 to be true.

If instead the teaching of the Catholic Church that a homosexual "orientation" is gravely disordered is correct, then persons laboring under this burden cannot possibly be outstanding as priests.

The 50 years of misbehavior exposed in this report is not encouraging for Mr. Bennet's theories.

Thank you for your prayers.

I received a calling to the Church from materialism in middle life. As the Christ threw the money changers and merchants, and other worldly sorts out of the Temple in Jerusalem, in imitation of Him we must do the same with those who control the hierarchy of the Bride of Christ yet fundamentally reject God.

"I'm an Episcopalian, and I believe that God forgives us all".

How convenient for you. All go to Heaven, all are justified, no matter what they do. As if this were a biblical point of view in any way. "The wages of Sin are Heaven", indeed. Do not be so sure that what you desire of God is God's will for you.

You misread me. I said that God forgives us for being angry at Him, which we all do from time to time.

I do not, however, believe that He forgives everything under all circumstances, which is what you seem to think I said.

I have no wish to involve myself in a religious flame war.

My experience, obviously limited nearly to absurdity, is that God judges with such mercy that the judged are overwhelmed with awe. The judged are brought to a knowledge of their true nature, and for most a terribly sorrowful realization it is.

Anger at God is perhaps like the anger of a child for his or her parent. Expectable, heedless, impulsive, and generally forgiven. Childish, and foolish, too.

Every word of that is what I think too. The older I get, the more important God is, and the more humble I become as I realize how I've neglected Him.

Sorry to be gone so long. Just got back.

If we are not comrades in arms (could be we are, eh?) we are certainly allies in the most important (and longest) of all wars. Let us work together.

The review board does not advocate barring homosexuals from the priesthood...

Respectfully, this is a mistake. A repentant homosexual who is free from the lifestyle, sure, but not an unrepentant homosexual, active or otherwise.
