There's no agenda. There's no call to action. There's no nothing here, folks. This is one of the most personal experiences a moviegoer will ever have, so personal it is going to be difficult for you to tell people what you felt. It's going to be difficult to tell people what you thought.

Well said.

I'd agree.

One thing for certain is this: Mel Gibson doesn't need the Hollywood "elite" any longer. "They" need him more than ever, though.

two big muckety-muck producers, studio heads or whatever, said that he doesn't have a chance of working in this town again.

I'm sure that the financial backers or shareholders of these two big muckety-muck producers, studio heads or whatever would be happy to hear that due to the anti-Christian bigotry and hatred held by these two big muckety-muck producers, studio heads or whatever is going to cost them money. No wonder they prefer they prefer the cowardly route of remaining nameless.

I know that "Passion" coverage has already exceeded saturation point, but this is really excellent anaysis by Rush Limbaugh. And I especially want to note this point that he made:
"The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) retracted critical remarks made about the film last April by its ecumenical and interreligious committee, which suggested that the film might be anti-Semitic."

Now, this really steamed me. Who is this group? the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Now, we know they're a bunch of liberals. But still, take that away. They're Catholics. This is a movie about what these people profess to be experts in! This is a movie about what these people teach others to believe and learn -- and these are the experts! These are the fathers, if you will, and they are so scared. They are so scared of a movie they didn't even see that they had to run with the critics and say, "Anti-Semitisc! We don't want to be..." They didn't even have the guts to stand up for this, and it's about them!

It's about who they are, and they didn't have the guts to stand up -- and now they want to get back in. Now that the American people are going to see the movie in droves, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Ah, forget it, forget it. We want to be back in. "In remarks released Wednesday on the Catholic news service, three staff members of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops office fulfillment broadcasting is the film might be overly violent but it's not anti-Semitic now." What business did you people have saying it was anti-Semitic anyway? You know that there's no anti-Semitism in the story of the crucifixion. That's not what it's about. Why did you join the chorus of detractors of a movie made by a man of your faith about what you do?

Because you're gutless. These are gutless people. Now, if gutless people are standing up, how can gutless people stand up for Jesus Christ? They ran away from this, and now of course, "Can we come back in? Can we come back in? I guess there's no anti-Semitism now."

Rush isn't always one of my favorite people but in this case I have to say "Thank you" to Rush for expressing so well the essential nature of the current crisis, "These are gutless people." Virtually every member of the current hierarchy is a gutless time server looking to his own advancement.

I realize, ladies and gentlemen, we're only into our second day of showings of
"The Passion of the Christ," but I want to know: Where are the roving bands of hateful
Christians throughout the streets of America wreaking havoc and violence on the
innocent and harmless people of this country?

As reported in today's Los Angeles Times...
the stoning/abuse of Jewish civilians is being done by folks leaving a mosque...
in Jerusalem.

Instead the press spends multiple hours on the "threat" from "The Passion".

Thank G-d these journalists and commentators usually never serve a day in the
US Military. They are total screw-ups when it comes to the vital topic of "enemy identification".

And Gibson knew this too. The last thing he said to O'Reilly when asked his prediction was that there would be an awful lot of bible screenplays popping up in Hollywood now.

Don't be surprised if they do a 360. This movie will make quite a bit of money. Money is the only thing Hollywood worships.

Boycott all Hollywood movies besides the Passion during Lent. Send them an even clearer message.

Mel is being blacklisted for being a Christian and a Conservative? Well, as a CC who has been baning his head against the new Hollywood Blacklist for 15 years, all I can say is ... "Welcome to the club, Mel. It's nice to have such a high profile face on the quietest scandal in Hollywood."

You've got a movie here that's going to outdo 90% of the trash that comes out of that town

You hear that, Hollywood? If you started making wholesome movies again, people would start returning to the theaters in droves. You hear that? Droves.

People who haven't been to a movie theater in years are going to see this movie. Hollywood should get a clue.

I'm surprised they didn't realize that the movie would do this well. The hype had already started during the making of the movie, say a year ago, or whenever it was. Didn't they hear the hype? People were already excited about it then, and have been eagerly anticipating it ever since.

Do these people live in a bubble?

And I will admit to you that in my case, maybe I've personalized it too much because I know full well where I'm not going to be allowed, where I can't go. I'm talking about career-wise. I know full well what I'm not going to be allowed to do because of what I believe. I know full well. We've seen it happen. I've seen it happen. I know full well where I can go say whatever I want to say and where I can't.

Hollyweird is a modern-day Soddom and Gomorroah, so I can understand their wanting to distance themselves from this movie. It reminds them of what they are gonna have to atone for some day.

Another reason H'weird is angry: people didn't listen to the pan-dits. We paid no attention to those people behind the curtains when they pronounced the movie a horrid, violent failure. We went to the theatres anyway. We bought tickets, we came out with tears running down our faces, and--for many--our lives changed by the power of that movie.

That has got to be annoying, when we ignore all their pundit-y wisdom, and, indeed, the pundits themselves.

Rush was had. The USCCB didn't retract any statement. They repudiated the scholars group last June and said they would release a statement when the movie came out. What they released was that statement (not that it's worth a bucket of warm spit).
