Ask them to define "fascist."

They can't.

Sure they can. It's anyone who disagrees with them!

Heh, heh... good for you.

Looks like you had a good FReep! Ahh yes.. NY commie pigs are glorious aren't they.

Amazing how they're the ones for gun control and all things squishy feeling but they're always the ones charging for a physical confrontation.

At one of our Albany,NY Freeps we got charged by a frothing at the mouth commie for holding up our Sore Loserman signs. This was the same Dim rally where the inside Gore supporter attendees spit on the Albany Police color guard.

The up-coming election cycle will be sooo much fun.. soo many FReeps to look forward to.

Congratulations to all NY FReepers.

My Libertarian priciples and the US constitution say that the government must prove the facts that justify imprisonment. How do you know he is part of a terror conspiracy? Because the government says so? Do you really want such a system to exist for all future presidents to lock up anybody without recourse?
Mike, you know damn well that if Padilla actually did something and it came out that we had info on him, you would be crying about why wasn't something done about it. there is a charge called "conspiracy to commit" you know, because people have been charged with it. And i've read your replies to people over this, and you sound like a sympathizer for the other side.
So why don't you listen for the "pop" (the sound of your head as it leaves your A$$ for the first time, and think about whats best for America:
preventing an attack or infringing on someones rights when there is a probability that he will do something.

Boy...what she spoke quietly to you so no one could hear I would have repeated extremely LOUDLY so every one in the house could hear..."WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT ME AND EVERY ONE LIKE ME TO DIE BECAUSE YOU DISAGREE WITH MY VIEWS?"

I'd then storm out of the house telling them I'd never set foot in there again.

The Democrats are a culture of evil and death, that is the bottom line with them. I shudder to think what they would do to good folk if they could get away with it!

"The Democrats must be defeated in 2004"!

They did not charge Padilla with that either. They charged him with nothing.

That does not make me an advocate for "the other side", unless you are on the side of the growing police state-then I am proudly an advocate for the other side. My side wants justice, due process and all that radical stuff. What does your side want?

Looking up Kerry's speaches from Vietnam Veterans Agains the War would be a good start. I'm sure that there is a nice collection of quotes somewhere on FR.

Ron and all, go no further than: WinterSoldier.com, brought to you by FRN.

I don't care what type of nonsense Ashcroft or Condi spouts

Interesting phrasing. I assume from it that you don't like anything these two people do, say or believe.

dirty bombs are small affairs that might blow up one building, not a city. It is a conventional bomb with some radioactive garbage in it.

It makes a large area uninhabitable and costs our economy a huge amount to clean up.

Just a dozen letters with anthrax practically shut down our whole postal delivery system and made millions of people act irrationally. A victory for whoever sent them.

You want Congress and the Supreme Court and the Smithsonian to shut down indefinitely for the clean up?

The way you dismiss this dirty bomb threat makes me wonder about you. It is okay to defend your concerns about the Patriot Act, but maybe you don't realize you are implying you don't care two pins about America by the way you are doing it.

I was replying to a silly question about which city I was willing to sacrifice to Jose Padilla. I merely reminded the writer that dirty bombs do not destroy cities.

I am sorry if your politically correct sensibilities are offended by some simple facts, but there is still no excuse to violate our most basic protections for this "War on Terror". George W. Bush remains a criminal guilty of many crimes and Jose Padilla remains as one of his kidnap and false imprisonment victims.

I do not know what they believe but I know that what Ashcroft does is frightening and evil. He is creating a police state, step by step. He was a terrible choice for Attorney General unless it was the President's intention to create a police state tyranny, a distinct possibility.

Are you aware that there is now a "no-fly" list. People on this list CANNOT buy an airline ticket. They cannot find out why they are on this list nor can they challenge the information. Do you think that such a list, without the ability to challenge it, is a suitable action for a government of an allegedly free nation?

Note: I will head off the first round of stupid comments by saying that it is apparently not limited to "evil others" but contains some native born Americans, Americans who are not being arrested, just prevented from using air transportation.

Let your beliefs be known.

But never try to teach a pig to sing.

It'll just frustrate you and tick off the pig.

In other words, it's a variant of socialism. I do like the Homeowners Association analogy and will (WYP) use it.

You are happy that the winner was a RINO that just voted against concealed carry in Kansas and voted for every species of tax increase possible. Sure, to a conservative, that is better than a freedom loving Libertarian. Your comment tells a lot about how modern Republicans think about freedom.

NOTE: RINO = Republican in name only. They have a political philoshopy thay would be labeled Democrat in other times and places.

You seem to be too full of anger and hatred toward others to make a good representative for the people in your area.

You may believe that certain government actions are wrong and foolish and can cause more harm than good, but to invest Ashcroft and Rice (who believe those actions are saving untold lives and untold grief) with base motivations like wanting "police state" and "evil" shows me your judgment is not levelheaded.

I understand your concerns, but the Clintons didn't care if certain actions were legal or illegal, they did them anyway. Watch dogging is good, but hatred is a debilitating emotion in the end.

BTW, I have heard Congressmen on the oversight committee say that no one yet has availed themselves of the opportunity to inspect library records. They could be lying or ignorant, but they did write oversight into the Patriot Act.

War is hell for many reasons. We are treading through hell right now, and our enemies are not this administration. Our enemy is the ancient one who took form as a serpent in Eden and now inspires false prophets with hatred to kill us.

Hatred is a weapon of the Evil One. It is more dangerous for you to use, than for Ashcroft to use the Patriot Act.

Yes, I have a fire in my belly to preserve freedom. I have children and will someday have grandchildren. I cannot let freedom fade away from all the future generations. This is really very important.

History tells me that I have much more to fear from my own government, if it chooses to ignore the safeguards of the constitution, than I do from outside terrorists. The probability of affecting me and mine is much greater from the government. To let the protections slip away is just too stupid for words.

So is Ashcroft stupid to advocate exchanging freedom for make believe security or does he know what he is doing? Who cares, he must be stopped either way!

Ashcroft was given a direct order from President Bush to do what was necessary to prevent another 9/11 or worse. He is doing that.

Your quarrel is with the President.

Frankly, seeing what wimps Americans were about flying after 9/11 and their hysteria over the anthrax and picking up their mail, and the huge cost to our economy of those two events as a result, I feel my quarrel is with the American public, not the President and what he did to prevent future terrorist attacks that he knew would further devastate the economy.
Even now, with the economy growing and the number of people employed being greater than before 9/11, much of the public is still of a mind that it isn't good enough and are looking on Sen. John Kerry favorably.

And as you are a Libertarian, it seems weird to me that you feel you can lecture Republicans about whom may be nominated by that party to run for office with that label.
