An anonymous Associated Press staff writer today (Feb 29, 9:35am) released a "hit piece" on California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, trying to "stir the pot" on the politically motivated groping allegations that were lodged against him just prior to the recent recall election.
The anonymous AP staffer claimed that "Linnea Harwell... alleged that Schwarzenegger made unwanted sexual advances toward her in 1998", and that the governor later dismissed the numerous allegations which surfaced close to the election as "old news".
Schwarzenegger married Maria Shriver in early 1986, which would have had Schwarzenegger cheating on his wife more than 12 years after their marriage.
However, Linnea Harwell actually worked with Schwarzenegger in 1988, on the set of the movie Twins, fifteen years before Schwartzenegger's gubernatorial run, not five years.
Why the anonymous AP staffer included the bogus date is a mystery, but it is known that the date was inserted within the crucial first three sentences of the hit piece, which the casual reader is most likely to read.
At this time, in the absence of a correction or retraction, the bogus "news" article continues to spread over the Net.

It's only about sex. Besides it was long ago. And besides it's his personal life and besides what does that have to do with his public behavior?
Lets move on.

I couldn't link directly to the original story on the AP website, but it is available on numerous local paper AP linkings (NYT, WP, etc.)

I checked the MoveOn.org website and I couldn't find a darn thing about "moving on" from these allegations. Maybe they've been busy. ;-)

I guess that having Bob Mulholland's name on an AP byline was just a wee bit much even for the Democrat embeds at AP. ;-)

"groping ALLEGATIONS"...hmmmmm, it only applies to Republicans and not to the DAMN DIRTY RATS! Ketchup boy's butt boys are doing a fine job of being biased bastards! They buried the Lurch affair because it was ONLY an allegation, but when it applies to the pubs, it's the gospel truth, evidence be damned!!

Then post those links! Most people don't want to have to register for the NYT or the WP, just to get a link to an anonymous AP article which is available all over the Net. If the writer wasn't anonymous, I would have posted the link which actually identified the writer.

It doesn't matter if you have to register. Just providing the links, thus the proof, bolsters your argument.

Just providing the links, thus the proof, bolsters your argument. Just so we're both clear on this - 95% of the time, this is the correct procedure. Not in this instance, though.

What's "experience" got to do with it? Maybe you should have added "Vanity" in the title?

He's not the only member of the "press" working for democrats. These folks should be fired. Free lancers -- OK, but not a full time member of the press. It's disgraceful.
