BUMP'ed back at you my friend.
To: satchmodog9
And another BUMP for critical information that should be spread around the entire nation and should be viewed by every teen and their parents.
To: tuckrdout
Yes. Today's "anything-goes" churches are a far cry from the "hell-fire and damnation" churches of the past.
Give me some of that old time religion! (Just not too much.)

Thanks...and a BUMP back.
Please try and get a copy of the presentatin...view it, and then if you are so inclined (and I am betting you will be)...spread it around. Every child and their parents should see this.
To: Jeff Head
In addition...based on the information available regarding STD's...it is also dangerous. Given the dangers...you would be best advised (but certainly not required) to check out the information included in this presentation, whether you believe in the moral/spiritual side or not. Such behavior endangers yourself and those with whom you practice sex.
I am well aware of the dangers of STDs and the other health information associated with sex. I have managed to live into my 40s without contracting any of them. I also believe that my life would have been much less fulfilling and complete had I not had sex. Are there dangers inherent in having sex? Sure. Just as there are dangers inherent in driving a car or hiking up a mountain. Life, at least life as I want to live it, entails some risks. However, there are procedures one can take to minimize risks as well. Seatbelts won't save everyone in a car accident, but they will save many of them. As will careful driving, and avoiding obvious trouble spots or conditions. People have died in cars, and I'm sure that if you were able to go back and ask them, "Was it worth it to die, just for the convenience of driving your own car?," most would probably say that it wasn't. Nonetheless, all of us know the dangers inherent in driving and choose to do so anyway, because we believe that our lives are made better by driving, and that the small risk of dying or getting injured is worth it. Similarly, I understand that I have had some non-zero probability of contracting an STD in my life, but I feel the risk is worth it compared to the benefits I have received. I certainly don't presume to recommend this particular risk-benefit analysis for everyone, but I don't think anyone can say that it's not a valid reasoning.
If you don't buy any of this, just consider it as another bump for your thread!
To: Stone Mountain
As I said, you are certainly free to do as you please.
I will repeat however that you would be well served to get this presentation and view its contents in any case.
Otherwise...I do thank you for the BUMP to the thread.

Well, I am happily married for 26 years and have five children, four of whom are now adults and have provided us with three wonderful grandchildren.
Within the confines of that type of relationship it has been a blessing and a wonderful experience.
Outside of that type of relationship, God in Heaven has made it clear that it is sinful and leads to sororw and serious bad consequences...irrespective of today's "eat-drink-and be marry" approach to life that has been adopted by so many.
The presentation that is the object of this thread makes those consequences clear and should be watched by every teen and their parents...and any other adult IMHO, in this country.
To: Jeff Head
I've been with the same man since I was 18, when I was a virgin. We've been together for 24 years. We're married now have two great kids. He is the only man I ever had sex with, and hopefully vice versa...

"Why is it "conservative" or "puritan" to say this is base stupidity?"
Because when you really are right, you are conservative. When you are immature and contrary to the truth, just to be contrary, you are liberal.

"I have yet to attend a Christian service that condemns sexual sin of any kind."
Where have you been going to church?
My parents' Catholic church condemns sexual sin in sermons, my Southern Baptist church's pastor preaches against sexual sin regularly. That's 2 for 2 in my experience.

You are very welcome. I am sure after seeing it that you will feel, as we did, compelled to spread word of the presentation/video and its message to as many people as possible.
To: Jeff Head
Ok, I just watched the tape and it is very powerful. When she talked about her mom and I thought I was going to break down crying. Pam doesn't even know her nationality. Gee, when she talks about birth control pills protecting you from pregnancy but not from disease, she is right on target. You will survive pregnanyc but you may not survive these diseases. Wow what a powerful tape. I am going to share it with everyone I know. Thanks That Pam is really cute to, she has a cute personality. Was everyone at your church amazed at it. I thought when the camera showed the kids you could tell they were really paying atteniion.

Wow what a powerful tape. I am going to share it with everyone I know. Outstanding! Most people watching it feel the same way and are spreading it around.
At our church we showed it to the adults as a prep and "advise and consent" prior to showing it to the kids. The adults all insist that the film be shown to our youth groups and we are going to do that in three weeks now.
We are going to look then at getting all of the churches in our community together and try and have several community meetings where it is shown.
To: Jeff Head
I saw that not long ago Pam was in Tennessee I could kick myself for not going. If only I had bought the tape when you first made a post on it, I might have been able to go. I am telling everyone that they need to watch it because it may save a life
