On a personal level, he faces questions about how a senator with an annual salary of $158,1000 can make the $15,000 monthly interest payment on a $6.4 million loan. Kerry's Senate financial disclosure form lists assets totaling about $2 million.

The important thing is that the Globe is raising the questions about the legality of Kerry's finances.

It IS a nice thing for a hametown newspaper to do..Basically a front page appeal for more campaign funds. Don't 'cha know that all the good democratic donors will whip out their checkbooks so their guy doesn't lose his home. Nice...

"He has assets beyond what's shown on the personal disclosure form," said Kerry spokesman Michael Meehan.

Eh?

perhaps his biggest financial asset is his millionaire wife - he probably didn't list her on his disclosure form

After that, there is a limit on the amount of campaign cash that can be used to repay such loans. The law states that it can be no more than whatever cash on hand the committee has as of that night, plus an additional $250,000.

His campaign will have 6.4 million on hand between now and the night of the convention. I predict the loan will be paid back in the next month.

I doubt that he'll have to worry about finances. George Soros and that Gabor fellow will be putting up any cash that Kerry can't. Yeah, I know that it looks unethical and illegal, but it isn't because it's money pouring into a Democrat campaign. Only Republicans have to abide by McCain/Feingold. / sarcasm off

I was recently informed by our state campaign attorneys that "McFeingold" does not allow the local Republican Party to give out, or sell, bumperstickers, buttons, signs, or pins with the name Bush -- or vote Bush -- on them until AFTER the convention in NYC, at risk of being charged with a FELONY. The bill should be called the "Insane-Feingold" bill.

On a personal basis, we can advertise for our President all we want -- just can't do it as a Party. So, I have vowed to wear a "W" pin every day until the election -- and throughout any possible recount. This is my personal way of supporting my President, and I would encourage all of you to do the same. I have a big "Dubya -- One More Time" button pinned to my purse which shows when I swing it over my shoulder -- even when I'm wearing a coat.

I purchased about 10 Bush pins in various styles, colors, and sizes -- one for every possible occasion. I even have a tiny W set with Sawarski crystals that I can wear on my collar at church. I spent about $20 altogether on-line.

I encourage all Bush supporters to go on line Aspen Designs is one of the best sites and send for a selection of pins for yourselves and your friends and relatives. Some of the pins are only $1.17 and they are all very good quality. There is no minimum order, but if you order several pins to one address you save on the shipping. I ordered my pins last Wednesday afternoon and received them Friday morning!

This is the only way that we can support our President before August without going to jail and losing our right to vote for the rest of our lives! Protest McCain Feingold by wearing your Bush pin EVERYWHERE until the election.

Yeah, I think the Globe has been doing a pretty good job:
First campaign ends in defeat
by Brian C. Mooney
PART 4
To win the primary, the newcomer overcame the election eve arrest of his brother, Cameron, and campaign field director Thomas J. Vallely, both then 22, in the basement of a Lowell building that housed the headquarters of Kerry and another Democratic contender, state Representative Anthony R. DiFruscia of Lawrence. It was almost 2 a.m. - 30 hours before the polls opened - when the two were arrested on charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny.

That day's Sun blared a memorable, double-deck headline: "Kerry brother arrested in Lowell 'Watergate."' DiFruscia, getting some extra ink in the campaign's waning hours, had drawn the parallel to the break-in at Democratic headquarters in Washington three months earlier.
He'll probably be whining about this all through the election, playing on people's sympathies, financial underdog, poor me poor me.

The loan is also secured with Kerry's half-interest in the Louisburg Square townhouse he owns with his wife. It was recently appraised at $12.8 million. As part of the loan process, Heinz Kerry gave the bank permission to foreclose on her half of the property as well if her husband defaulted on the loan, said a Kerry campaign attorney. Federal election law expressly allows such action.

Nothing prohibits them leting the bank foreclose, and then Teressa buying it back at the foreclosure auction.
It is an illegal scam that could never be proven.

Regardless of whether or not it is legal, I will be paying people to stand outside of select Mormon/Baptist/Roman-Catholic churches with "Support Gay Marriage: Support State Senator X" in a number of South Shore reas. Pam Resor will be a particular target here in Central Massachusetts.
