Now, doesn't that fly in the face of the liberals claiming homosexuals
are born that way??

Homosexual activists play it either way...depending on the situation/audience.
I remember hearing Randy Shilts (sp?), the gay journalist from San Francisco do this.

I remember hearing him in some interview using the (in my words) "it's genetic, you
can't punish us because we've known we're gay since before grade school" explanation.

A couple years later, he was on ABC NightLine commenting on the debate
over the "don't ask, don't tell" proposal for the US military.
At that point he trotted out the (in my words) "you can't punish military
personnel for being gay...lots of them are young and just figuring out their
sexual orientation" behavioural explanation of homosexuality.

IIRC, Shilts died soon after that appearance from AIDS/HIV.
I think he also wrote the book "And The Band Played On", a diatribe that
as much as blamed Ronald Reagan for AIDS/HIV...and got made into a cable (HBO?) movie.

I've got to hand it to the gay lobby.
They are better than trial lawyers (like John Edwards) at twisting reality and words.
Even without AIDS/HIV dementia.

Ah, yes. Gay pride and the political baggage that trails along. It's a celebration of abnormality. They should just start up a circus. Walter just came from the old school - don't say anything and watch where you go and watch what you do when you get there. If you have enough money, you can just smear your detractors.

The more Cronkite speaks the less I like him and realize he pulled one over on the American people....could you imagine him saying something like this on the Tiffany network in the 60's???

As a comic once said, as your parents get older they get to look alike -- mom grows a mustache and dad get tits. Walter probably has both.

PSome gay guys like older men. There's somebody for everybody."

Ah yes. I can just picture Barney Frank cuddling with Walter Cronkite while Dean Martin croons in the background - "Everybody loves somebody sometime."

And they chuckle as Barney jokes:

"There's no tool like an old tool."

Walter Cronkite would be "happy" to marry a man.

His wife probably said the same thing.

Next step for homosexuals: Its genetic and a handicap to be gay ( like Downs syndrome )and they need special government programs to help them cope with their condition. AIDS treatment programs, counseling, support groups (read:dating service ), affirmative action considerations, ad nauseum.
Homosexuals can only survive in an advanced and prosperous society such as ours. Seems like inverse evolution. Instead of survival of the fittest its advancement of the weakest mutations. Left alone they would become extinct.

Sidebar: here in Los Angeles, there are a number of public service announcements about
the increase in "premature births", often with the voice-over of an
understandably-concerned parent breathlessly imploring "My baby was born
premature...and no one can tell me why..."
Obviously, it's our tax dollars and airwaves being used to drum up funding for
research (not a totally ignoble goal).

I'm not a doctor...and am really compassionate for the premature infant and parents...
but I'm waiting for some politically-incorrect person to say
"Ya' think a couple of generations of pediatric intensive care saving premature
babies who then grow up to have babies might have something to do with that?
Or maybe that a few generations ago, we didn't have an epidemic of pre-mature babies...
then they just died, were buried and the parents tried again."

He should try having sex with one first. Maybe a baby would grow in his tummy.

Maybe that's why dear Walter is being cagey. If he is an old queen, well you know how sensitive they are ... he may not want his precsious feelings hurt.

Or Andy Rooney

Or Bill Moyers.
