I know I know. The point is that other organizations listed after people's names might also be "okay." The CG obviously is, Eating for Peace might be (I dunno, never heard of them before), The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is definitely apolitical, yet it is listed here too. Thanx for a serious comment. I believe there were court cases in the 60s and 70s, that gave americans the right to join the american communist party. I think the key was that the party did not advocate the violent overthrow of the US government. That is the language I remember from that time period.

I asked one guy a serious question for which I did not know the answer. Was and is the military precluded from registering for Communist Party USA?

The single fact that Communism advocates *abolishing private property* is reason enough to call them enemies of liberty. If you're not allowed to benefit from your labor but instead are forced to work only for the benefit of others, I call that *slavery*. Now, is it really necessary to play the antonym game with "slavery", or do we have to go into the other tenets of Communism (like that the totalitarian State would just "fade away" once Communism is established -- yeah, right).
