The world wants W out: Kerry
New York Daily News ^ | 3/09/04 | HELEN KENNEDY

WASHINGTON - Expanding his lead in a national poll, Democrat John Kerry made waves yesterday by saying foreign pols have confided they are rooting for him.

"I've met foreign leaders who can't go out and say this publicly but, boy, they look at you and say, 'You've got to win this, you've got to beat this guy, we need a new policy' - things like that," Kerry said.

President Bush is widely unpopular in many parts of the world, but Kerry's comment came close to flouting the longstanding American tradition of leaving partisan politics at the water's edge.

Kerry "may have friends in countries like France who would rather see him as President, but American voters will make that decision," said Bush campaign spokesman Scott Stanzel.

Bush boosters routinely lampoon Kerry's fluency in French and his year at a Swiss boarding school, hoping to tar him with voter anger against French opposition to war in Iraq.

Bush, who touts his unilateral policies, portrayed Kerry as being in the pocket of foreign leaders.

"My opponent says he approves of bold action in the world, but only if other countries don't object," Bush said.

But the tough talk of Bush's debut on the campaign trail does not appear to have given him a boost.

A new Gallup Poll showed Kerry leading Bush by 52% to 44%.

In Florida, where the 2000 election was decided after a chaotic 36-day recount, a new Miami Herald poll had Kerry at 49% and Bush at 43%.

Kerry said he was already preparing legal challenges.

When a Florida voter asked Kerry what he would do "to prevent them from stealing the election," he said, "We're going to have the legal team in place. We're going to take injunctions where necessary ahead of time. We'll pre-challenge if necessary."

Our enemies want Kerry to be president?

Sounds familiar:

I guess to "pre-challenge" means to challenge before you challenge...?

I think John "Apocalypse Not" Kerry will be very disappointed to learn that the world does not vote for the American President. Only a smallish slice of it does.

I'll bet you have.

And it's not because they love America!

George Bush is the brutal dicatators' Nightmare President--the Nightmare of all the terrorists and America's enemies, domestic and foreign. Kerry is their fondest dream.

Kerry has a permission slip from the UN to be president of the US.

Profound! If not already deemed so, it should be the quote of the day!

First of all, the fact that he didn't defend a fellow American (and president at that!) against attacks from foreigners proves he's an unpatriotic whore. Second of all, the fact that foreigners hate Bush is all the more reason to vote for him. When this thing started, I thought Dean was a nut who needed to be stopped. But every time Kerry opens his disgusting mouth I get more mad at him. He's a total dirtbag, scumsucking, horse-faced, gold digging, brother of a band of traitors.

Nasty John the French Undertaker, who is behind the atatacks on GWB's 9/11 ad, per the American Spectator.

Kerry, who is personally endorsed by Hait's Aristide, Iran's Mullahs, Kim Jong Il, (& Kim Il Jong), Mugabe, Marxit thug Chavez of Venezuela, Castro of Cuba, & France's Jacques Chirac, is a weapon of mass economic destruction.

He'll destroy the troops in Iraq, the War on Terrorism,

& the U.S. stock market with all his negative talk and whiny-leftist-liberal sour-puss troop-bashing, Bush-bashing, America-bashing talk & self-aggrandizing, ultra-negative sourpuss whiny elitist personality.

North Korea know what a sweetheart deal the Communist Chinese got from bill clinton.

They know that thy will get the same deal from kerry.

Plus not only they will get dipolomatic regognization from him, he will cut diplomatic ties with South Korea and withdraw U.S. troops.

The voters in the U.S. may not know a communists when they see one but the North Koreans do.

"'Flipper' is not going to be the President."

I think you're right. But for a man like him to be even under serious consideration is very scary.

But with kerry's thinking, it will never be necessary, except with the Nations that are friendly to us.

It seems Kerry has no objections to pre-emptive attacks after all.

To a leftist, anything is justified in order to attain power.

I misread your post. I thought he was talking about our enemy Nations.

kerry's character cannot be attacked. It is already so bad that anything anyone says about it would have to be considered a compliment.

Great line. That would make a dandy bumper sticker.
