Saddam Hussein was only 537 Florida votes away from still being in power, and more than 500 U.S. service personnel were only 537 Florida votes away from being dead in President Bush's ill-conceived war.

I guess my letter to the editor of last Sunday in the Miami Herald, must have really gotten under poor Ms. Sheriff's skin as evidenced by her quick response. You can see my original letter with my tagline
HERE.
Unfortunately the Miami Herald limits letters to the editor to just one per month so I am unable to respond directly. If I could I would have posted something like: "The Taliban was just 537 Florida votes away from still being in power."
Anyway, a SLEEPING GIANT has been awoken. For the rest of this election year I am planning on sending pithy one (and two) liners to Letters to the Editors to newspapers ALL OVER the country. And if it causes the liberals grief---TOUGH LUCK!!!
Incidentally many liberals were AGAINST even striking against the Taliban post 9-11. One such group of liberals was "Peaceful Tomorrows" to which Mrs. Heinz has donated mucho dinero. This group also organized the PHONEY outrage over the brief 9-11 images in Bush's recent commercials.
Well, I CAN'T respond to Ms. Sheriff due to the Herald's one-month rule but if one of you fellow Freepers care to do so, be my guest. Remember to respond with a pithy one-liner (although two-liners are also permitted).

Please put the Dallas Morning News on your list. It once was a "conservative" paper, but the RAT seminar letter-writers have been coming out of the woodwork lately.

My hands are tied as to a response due to the one-month rule but if someone else wants to respond with a pithy one-liner letter to the editor you can send it by clicking

Please put the Dallas Morning News on your list. I have fond memories of the Dallas Morning News. I used to have a semi-regular humor column that I free-lanced in the Houston Chronicle Texas Magazine section. One day I received a phone call from a Dallas Morning News editor and he liked one of my stories about a Scrabble game that was in the Houston Chronicle. He offered me $100 for reprint rights which I immediately agreed to. Then they published the Scrabble article with a BEAUTIFUL illustration. If I can find it I will scan it and post here.

Her response only verifies your tagline. Those soldiers would not have died because we would be still on our knees begging Osama to please not hit us again. A good response would be that those 500 died for your safety too! Braindead liberals are sometimes their own worst enemies???

Nice job. Keep poking the morons in the eyes.

...and more than 500 U.S. service personnel were only 537 Florida votes away from being dead in President Bush's ill-conceived war.But other buildings were saved by keeping the terrorists on the run. So we lost 500 heros, but saved perhaps 20,000 office workers by having Bush instead of Gore. Not to mention if all those terrorists were still alive, there could've been a nuclear strike against by now, so those 537 votes that went Bush's way may have saved hundreds of thousands.

What a great idea!! I*m going to follow your lead and send some into the Albuquerque Journal. It will really tick all the RATS in NM off. Especially our RAT Governor, Bill Richardson. ;-)

Here's mine, as published in the Fargo Forum:
Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry has a perfect 100 percent rating from the gun control group, the Brady Center.
I recommend voters keep this in mind when selecting a candidate.

<...in President Bush's ill-conceived war.
What planet does this dumb witch come from? She should be bombarded with pictures and videos of Americans jumping to their death to escape the pain and agony of being immolated in the towers. I wish someone would set up an outdoor video screen with loud speakers, so the people could see and hear the sounds of Americans leaping to their deaths in this "ill-conceived" war. The sound of an American body splatting on the concrete from 1,000 to 2,000 feet in the sky might not bother her, but it would certainly jolt some of the mice out of their democratically induced stupor.

Could you add the Tuscaloosa News to your list?
I once posted an online poll to freep which had been posted by this newspaper, and somebody asked, "why in the world should we care about some small town newspaper like the Tuscaloosa News?"
My answer: Because the New York Slimes owns this newspaper, that's why.
