On 09/05/2007 a Freeper was born! Our daughter Anna Olivia weighed in at 8 pounds even and was 20-3/4 inches long. She's our first so wish us luck! At first I was very afraid that we had a democrat on our hands: ...but it was soon clear we had a sweet little conservative girl who will make an outstanding nun. We are home from the hospital and mom and baby are both doing fine.

Congrats your marriage September 1 !!!!!!

I have to share -- I took my last final as an undergraduate at 8 a.m. this morning. I graduate Saturday, cum laude, with a BA in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. I'm 35, and this was a return to school as a homeschooling mom of twins :) I'm just so happy! And I start grad school next week LOL Just thought I'd share! I have no regrets over having put off the "college experience" -- I am a much better student now than I was as a "kid" -- and I can't imagine not having been home with my babies...

Perhaps you're not aware of the kerfuffle between the Council on American-Islamic Relations (a group whose officials openly promote Islamic law in the United States) and the Young America's Foundation. YAF, it seems, invited one Robert Spenser to address their National Conservative Student Conference. CAIR is none too pleased. Spenser, you see, maintains a website called JihadWatch, and is the author of several books that would not be considered to be very friendly toward Islamic fascism. We have such titles as "The Truth About Muhammad: Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion" and "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam."...

Daniel James Roosevelt Nolen Cutest liberal born baby I've ever seen. I suspect his parents may become more conservative. My son will never tell me but I can already tell it.

Rosen Replay Tuesday 8/22/06 10-11AM Guest: Dr. Larry Schweikart, author of, "America's Victories."http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/18227/podcast/DENVER-CO/KOA-AM/Rosen8-22-10AM.mp3 (mp3, 45 minutes) Book Description From the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror, the American military has consistently beaten the odds. It's not luck. America's armed services are under attack. From college campuses to the floor of the Senate, the Iraq war is portrayed as a quagmire, the Army is described as "broken," and our men and women in uniform are maligned as torturers. Hollywood keeps producing anti-war films, and the media celebrates liberal anti-military activists such as Cindy Sheehan. These critics fail to understand the...

As Israel pounded Hizbullah targets in southern Lebanon with bombs, artillery fire and advancing ground troops, some Lebanese at home and abroad were quietly applauding Israel's offensive. Most Lebanese oppose Israel's widespread bombardment of the country, and even those in the past who called for Hizbullah's disarmament have, in the face of Israel's military assault, lined up behind the Shi'ite militia. Yet a distinct minority of Lebanese are rooting for Israel to crush Hizbullah - silently if not explicitly. "I'm praying for flattening southern Lebanon," one Beirut native, Micheline Touma, told JTA recently after fleeing Lebanon for the United States...

Greetings, Today on O'Gasbag, Ellis Henican stated that (after listening to Lynn Samuels audio that O'Gasbag played)there were "whacks" on both sides of the political spectrum - he said that while O'Gasbag only cites left-wing whacks, he would cite "Newsmax, Free Republic, and other far right" whackjobs... Just throwing the handgrenade into the living room...

On Saturday, Gibson released a statement apologizing: "After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the L.A. County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am...

A Waterloo man and his dog made a harrowing escape from the clutches of a vicious black bear Thursday while portaging near Wawa, Ont. Tom Tilley, 55, killed the nearly 200-pound bear by jumping on its back and stabbing the aggressive animal with a six-inch hunting knife after his dog alerted him and distracted the bear. "Love is a very powerful emotion and my thought right away was, 'You're not going to kill my dog,' " Tilley said yesterday. "I really consider my dog a hero. Without that first warning I would have had the bear clamping down on my...

FReeper governsleastgovernsbest, AKA Mark Finkelstein, will be on the Lars Larson Show this evening at about 6:30 EDT. Lars and Mark will be discussing the NY Times leak of the government anti-terror program designed to track terrorists' financial transactions. Time permitting they might also get into the amazing ability of Democrats and their MSM friends to switch gears without missing a beat. For months they have demanded a troop reduction. But as soon as there are indications a reduction might be in the offing, they criticize the Bush administration for timing withdrawals for political purposes! Campbell Brown’s interview with Gen....

FReeper governsleastgovernsbest, AKA Mark Finkelstein, regularly tracks the liberal antics of the Today Show. He will be a guest on the Lars Larson Show this evening at about 6:30 PM ET to discuss Katie Couric's final appearance on this morning's Today Show, as she prepares to take up her duties at CBS News. He'll also discuss the future of Today. Incredible as it might seem, Katie's replacement, Meredith Viera, appears to be an even more unabahsed liberal than Couric! Tune in tonight! OK, Freepers, heads up. I will be on several television shows and radio shows in the next couple of weeks to promote my new book, America's Victories: Why the U.S. Wins Wars and Will Win the War on Terror. I'm posting this now because next week things start to get hectic and I might not be able to ping everyone who requested to be notified. First, the book is out May 18. STANFORD, Calif. -- With conservative congressional majorities at risk in next November's elections, President Bush repeatedly should remind everyone that a key reason coalition troops invaded Iraq was to padlock Saddam Hussein's Wal-Mart for terrorists. The administration finally is releasing intelligence documents captured in Baghdad. Bush should use them to detail how Hussein indeed was entwined with terrorists in general and al Qaeda in particular. These papers appear on the Army Foreign Military Studies Office's Web site. (fmso.leavenworth.army.mil/products-docex.htm). The administration should promote a simple URL (e.g. iraqdocuments.gov) so readers easily can examine Hussein's terror ties. According to a March 23...

Kristinn just called to say that he'll be on this afternoon to talk about the war, protesters, public opinion... I wasn't able to get much more information, because his phone is pretty busy right now. I think he said he'll be on during the 5:30 segment. For those of us who never watch Hardball, it starts at 5pm on the east coast.

Kudos again to FR, Buckhead, Howlin, Texasforever, NYCVirago, and of course Jim for having this site to begin with. "Chapter 9 "We're Toast" pg 143 - 145 directly credits Freepers above with uncovering the "missing Documents" out of President Bush's National Guard Service that were distinctly unflattering to the President, and also flat forgeries. I am reading the book at the moment, and I wanted to pause and give credit where credit is due. I thank all those who helped bring to light these roaches that considered themselves so important as to try to influence a Presidential Election. I thank...

Twenty-five years ago yesterday, Bob Nelson was a bright-eyed sophomore at Salem State College, anxiously broadcasting his first radio show. That was when the college station went back on the air after a five-month hiatus because a wind storm had knocked down the antenna. It had taken months to get the money to rebuild it. "I remember catching up on stuff we missed after five months off the air," Nelson recalled. "John Lennon and Yoko Ono had just released an album ('Double Fantasy') before he was killed and I remember we were playing those songs." That was March 12, 1981,...

Great News! Freepers LS & Jeff Head have just released a book! It is LS (Larry Schweikart) first novel, a thriller about 9/11, "September Day", produced by fellow FReeper Jeff Head. Only available on Amazon/B&N. Hope you'll take a look: Check out Amazon site About September Day No living American can, or should, forget 9/11. But the process of trying to place this book with a major publisher has alerted me to the fact that many indeed want to do just that. Repeatedly, my agent got rejections with the words, "It's well written, but we don't want to touch...

A freelance writer who compared the Holocaust to eating meat in a 2003 column was pulled yesterday from Senate Democrats' list of witnesses.... The move came just a day after Stephen R. Dujack was announced as a witness and hours after Senate Republicans and conservative bloggers attacked his credibility for writing that the way people treat animals was akin to Nazis' treatment of Jews. .... "If this is the type of witness they plan to have at this hearing, it shows there's an utter dearth of serious objections to Judge Alito's record." .... She said in addition to removing Mr....

On Oct 20, 2005 I was reading my Sgt Grit’s American Courage Newsletter #108 when I found a letter from a very determined young lady named April Cheek. (You can read her letter at the link, it's about the 10th letter in the newsletter). Anyhow, I was genuinely touched by her determination and I wanted to let her know that, so I decided to write her. I only knew her first and last name from the newspaper, so I looked up the female recruit schedule and found that female recruits arriving Oct 10th would be in Papa Company. I sent...

I am happy to announce that as of January 1, 2006, I will be assuming the position of Communication Director for former Georgia Congressman Mac Collins. Congressman Collins has declared his candidacy in Georgia’s New 8th District and will be running against Democratic Congressman Jim Marshall. This will mean that I will be significantly reducing the numbers of columns that I will be writing. On occasion I will still, when time permits, write opinion pieces for the foreign press; however, at this time I feel that my primary responsibility as a United States citizen is to work for change at...

Looks like I'll be on with Bridget Quinn and John Scott "debating" Alan Lichtman over the place of the Clinton impeachment in textbooks. Among other things, I'll demand fairness, that as the second impeached president he gets every bit as much attention as the first---Andrew Johnson. I'll also insist that he was acquitted only because the Senate refused to do its job. And it was not about sex.

MARY MAPES IS BACK. With her memoir, Truth and Duty: The Press, The President, and the Privilege of Power, the former CBS News producer is trying to write a second act for her career. Sadly, if her book is any indication, her second act is just a repeat of the first. Mapes was the producer of the CBS 60 Minutes II segment on President Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard that aired on September 8, 2004. According to the segment, President Bush had received preferential treatment in being admitted to the Guard, and once in, had served dishonorably....
