New gun owners, meanwhile, still will be recorded as part of federal gun control legislation.

Say what? Under federal law, all FFL transfers go on a piece of paper, one which may not legally be destroyed for 20 years. And this is whether the purchase was of a new gun or one from a pawn shop. What is the reporter talking about?

Rep. Dan Gelber, D-Miami, said pawnshop gun receipts have led in the past to criminals’ convictions. “Why do we want to take away this tool for law enforcement?” he said. “This is not a mainstream bill, it’s an extreme bill.”

Gelber is an extremist himself, and an anti Second Amendment civil rights bigot who's tried to get Florida shooting ranges shut down with the excuse of enviornmental concerns.
