I remember that day as I was on one of thousands of Americans in-flight on airliners criss-crossing our beloved nation. Only until I landed at my destination, did I learn the devastation and loss in NYC, Washington and Pennsylvania.
I still have my ticket and boarding pass from 911 as a reminder of the horror of that day for those who had their lives taken from them in the air and on the ground. Everything we do is by the grace of God.
God Bless America.

We Remember
We saw the look upon his face,
Through whispers he was told.
We knew he felt just what we felt,
We wouldnt sit here cold.
We knew this time that we would act,
And not just turn our head.
This time wed go and wed go big,
We wouldnt bomb some shed.
He called them faceless cowards,
He vowed well hunt them down.
We watched as he spoke to us all,
Sincerely, not some clown.
His eyes assured us hed not rest,
Until they paid the price.
Yes wed turn over every stone,
Until they were on ice.
He warned the battle would be long,
That many would forget.
That some would say, lets just move on,
Not him, his mind was set.
We backed him then, we back him now,
The fight must still go on.
We cant back down, we cant let up,
Until the threat is gone.
God Bless our troops as on they fight,
Each day for them we pray.
We thank them all, for all they do,
They are the best, we say.
We will support our President,
Hes proven he will stand.
Well vote for Bush this coming fall,
We will protect this land.

I remember posting on Free Republic about what I saw from my office window on that day before we were evacuated from our building. Thank you for this post!

My son was 5 weeks old, I had been up all night with him and was trying to sleep when my husband called. I can still remember the sick feeling I got in my stomach when he told me and I ran downstairs to watch the news. I then went up and started hugging my son. I couldn't believe that this was happening in OUR country, and I thanked God that we had a man of conviction in the White House.
I will never forget that day. May God bless America, our troops so bravely protecting her and George W. Bush.

Just remember folks, John Kerry will treat terrorist attacks as crimes, not war! Americans are in for some sad days ahead if John Kerry is elected. Osama bin Laden will have a field day. Are the American people so stupid? I guess they are! IMHO "Terror" and the war against it is and should be the number one concern of the American people. I fear America is going down! And.....by its own hand, willingly!

I'll never forget where I was. I was going to school that morning and as I left the house I heard on KLBJ (my parents always had the radio on for most of the morning) that a plane had hit one of the towers. I didn't think much of it and thought it was an accident. Well, I got to school about half an hour later, ate breakfast and went to first period astronomy class. One of the girls in the class then said that the other tower had been hit. It was then we knew that it was terrorism. Then we found out that the Pentagon had been hit, heard that the State Department building had been attacked (a rumor later found to be untrue), and found out that a plane crashed into a Pennsylvania field. I was particularly nervous because I had been only a few miles from the Murrah Building on April 19, 1995. All I can say is thank God that we have a true leader now.

Reading those old posts took me back to that day (of course I wasn't a FReeper then, sadly). I saw it unfold on TV that morning, which was strange because I NEVER watched TV in the mornings, but that day I turned it on. God Bless America and God Bless George W. Bush.

I'll never forget where I was. I was starting my first day of classes for my MOS training at Ft. Eustis, Va. Our teacher cam into the room and told us what happened and that there would be no classes after lunch, we would be released to our drill sgts. There were no classes the next morning either.
My prayers got out to the people in Spain today.

I was just down the road from you on Eustis. I heard about the first crash and joined a group of folks in our Director's office watching the news reports when the second crash occurred. That's when we all realized we were under attack.
We canceled all meetings and locked-down the building. That's when we heard about the Pentagon attack. We volunteered to stay over to work the phones until we located all of our people on TDY and found ways to get them home. After I got home, I sat down with my kids and tried to explain what happened.
The roughest part was a couple of days later when I found out a couple of buddies of mine didn't make it out of the Pentagon.
Forgive and forget? Hell no....
