Firefighters for Bush! (Not all firefighters are held hostage by their union!)

Firefighters for Bush
On March 4, 2004, President Bush released the first television campaign ad of the season. It was a powerful, upbeat, forward-looking message of hope, containing images from his presidency and a vision of a better future. It was also attacked immediately in the press as "exploitative" because the President had included some brief images from 9/11 which featured the crumbled towers and weary firefighters. IAFF president Howard Schaitberger joined the attack, claiming that the President was trying to "capitalize on the image of great heroics and a great tragedy." But other firefighters, incensed at the IAFF's statements, rallied around the President. Many of them turned to the web as a way to express their outrage at Schaitberger's remarks.
On March 10, 2004, one week to the day after Bush's ad aired and the IAFF attack, FirefightersForBush.com was unveiled. An all-volunteer effort by people who hadn't even known each other the week before, this site is the product of real-live, honest-to-God American Grassroots politics at its best.
Can We Really Change Anything?
Absolutely, positively and emphatically yes. The fact is, Americans really do pay attention to the opinions of real Americans, more than they listen to talking heads, "official spokesmen," and unions. By telling the truth about our strong support for president Bush we can make a difference - so Get Involved!
Spread The Word
Tell your friends about this site. Email every firefighter you know who might be interested, and invite them to visit us. If you spend time in chat rooms or online forums (bulletin boards), let the folks there know about us too! We're all volunteer, and that includes you. Be a part of the solution.

Same with teacher Unions. When the NEA endorsed Gore during the last presidential election, the rank and file in our school was outraged. No one even polled us to ask what we thought.

I am a union member and like the firemen I'm for George Bush. I keep hearing this more and mare that the Union officials are for some body and the rank and file are for some one else. Unions in this day and age are sometimes more trouble than the employer.

...the IAFF attack...My local fire doods called last night looking for their usual donation. I mentioned the IAFF and Harold Schaitberger - their union thug leader - and how I couldn't support an organization which backs Kerry. The caller understood my position but will keep me on the list just in case the IAFF leadership gets their mind right. (The caller wasn't really jazzed about Harold, either.)
Have THEM tell Schaitberger that donations are down because of his own personal politics...

Heard Mike Moran the other day on (I think) Rush.He was solidly for GWB.
You remember Mike..a firefighter...who lost a brother on 9/11...and said those Famous Words....at the Concert for New York.
"Osama bin Laden...you can kiss my royal Irish ass."
Irish people...we DO have a way with words.
LOL!!!

Hannity did a great job last night getting the word out that LOTS of firefighters have personally asked him to let the world know they stand behind Bush and NOT with their union on this.
Hannity said this more than once last night. Eleanor Clift wasn't pleased. Which meant I was delighted.
