What are the "credible comments" you speak of?

I agree that Kerry should release his military and financial records, but what "mounting evidence" are you referring to?

Why would a guy who has three purple hearts NOT want his military records opened? Hmmmm? You'd think he'd be flashing them all over the place, especially given that Kerry never stops reminding us he served in Vietnam before he groupied with Jane Fonda.

How could he have faked injuries? A sore ankle? Don't you have to have been shot? Where's the medic who would have treated him? I'd like to see those records opened, too. He hasn't got a leg to stand on, stonewalling like this.

If you have "mounting evidence", I suggest you post it; otherwise this thread is a waste of time and bandwidth.

If you are unwilling or unable to substantiate this claim then this thread should be pulled immediately.

Unsupported rumor and talk such as this is defamatory and libelous, and it should not be tolerated. I am no fan of John Kerry, but I will not, as a naval veteran myself, stand by quietly and accept such comments from any corner about any individual without the basic challenge of:

Where is your proof?!
Put up or .....

"Credible comments" - in court would that be termed "hearsay"? We need better proof.

I have never believed Kerry to be a war hero because he does'nt have the type of persoality to be capable of heroic deeds.I think his records were faked and his medals purchased at an army/navy surplus store.

Wouldn't they have created a story for each medal that would be shown in the records? The real reason he should release his records is that there might be some clues about what this traitor was up to during that time.

How often was Kerry AWOL and hanging around with those who were conspiring against our country?

From a 1970 article.

http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=352185

"...For the next five months, until April of 1969, Kerry was the commanding Lieutenant of a patrol boat in the Mekong Delta. He was wounded slightly on three different occasions and received a Silver Star for bravery. ..."

I guess an issue is what exactly were "slight" wounds, and whether he claimed the magic number of three to get discharged. From what I hear, certainly not the only person to do that....

BTW, these "documents" - anything about his deferment application to study in Paris?

I think the injuries are real, but he doesn't want anyone to know how trivial they were. They probably didn't require medical treatment.

There are lots of "minor" injuries in the military. I have permanent hearing loss in one ear because were weren't given earplugs for the firing range in basic. It never occurred that it might disqualify me from going to Nam. I suspect that very few people knew about or took advantage of the three band-aids and out rule.

Dude, while I understand your passion, I fear you are chasing an elusive target. Primarily because the criteria for a Purple Heart is easy to meet in a combat zone.

All that is required is an injury that requires medical treatment in a combat zone. The injuries need not be life threatening or directly a result of actions related to combat or engaging the enemy.

My uncle tells the story of a cook at a Marine fire base in Nam who stepped on nail that went through his boot. The wound got infected and required evac to a local hospital for draining, a couple of stitches, and some antibiotics. The Marine was back on the fire base in 3 days with a sore foot. My uncle tells me that the Purple Heart was awarded for the injury.

One of the little known facts about service in Vietnam was that 3 "Hearts" and you were out. There was a policy in place that after being wounded 3 times, a soldier / sailor could apply to be sent out of Vietnam. I understand this was how Kerry got out before his tour was up.

Come on, he was in country for a whole FOUR months.

He ought to mention that little fact more often.

Hey, let's not make a big thing about this. Lots of young men have lied about what they did in a war. Sure, he has not told the truth about how he spent more than a summer vacation in Nam and sure he has lied about his awrds but, let's put that behind us and move on.

I opposed the pressure on Bush (who had been telling the truth) to show his Nam era records. Just because Kerry is lying is no reason to put him through the same thing.

What would be accomplished if Kerry's records proved that he has been falsifying his records all along? Does anyone believe that he isn't a worthless liar? Does anyone believe that he really got all those medals in such a short time? No!! There is no doubt that he pulled the same sort of hocus-pocus in Nam as he pulled getting rid of his first wife. Kerry is a liar; what would it accomplish to force him to prove something we already know?
