Read the replies I sent you. They focus on the reality that the Boston Market Frozen Products sold in Grocery Stores are a Heinz product.

Boston Market Restaurants as you noted are owned by McDonalds and should not be boycotted.

Thanks. But is there proof of that? I don't see it in the article.

Please!!!!! Think logically about this.... No one on the thread is looking at the bog picture... instead they are buying into the boycott heinz idea... It's stupid to boycott heinz based on the "outsourcing idea"...

Please, folks... let's not have a SECOND thread of "Idiots on Parade."

Anyone can go to the Heinz web site and read their annual report. Anyone can go to the sec.gov site and read their 10-K.

Theresa "Heinz" Kerry has no position with the company whatsoever. She is not on the Board, she is not in management, she is not even a significant stockholder. She is the widow of a Heinz family member... that's it. This whole "get Heinz" thing is beyond stupidity. It's actually harming innocent people... those who work for and invest in the H.J. Heinz company.

The guy who really does run the H.J. Heinz company is William R. Johnson, Chairman and CEO. Here are his contributions, according to the FEC. This is the guy you are out to "get":

"Just what is Te-ray-za's role in Heinz today?"

None whatsoever. She's not even a major shareholder. And I just found out that the current Chairman and CEO of Heinz has contributed more than $50000 to Republican campaigns in the last five years. Bitching about Heinz outsourcing, where the man in charge is a Republican, seems a bit stupid.

The media goes into fits of glee when Halberton is discovered "over-charging" $4,000 for $2.8M worth of hamburger.

To this they give no coverage.

Media bias is getting worse now--even Mark Steyn is amazed and more troubled by it.

Finally! Someone with some sense! What you say is completely true. Teresa Heinz Kerry has no role in the Heinz Corporation's decisions, and the overseas factories exist for the purpose of conducting business in that country. So to try to hold John Kerry responsible for this is beyond ridiculous.

BFD. If some you had your way, then no American company would have any locations, employees or business outside the USA. Did you ever stop to think these companies are producing products in foreign companies for foreign markets?
I worked for Heinz briefly after graduation from Duke University Fuqua School of Busioness (MBA). Subsequently, I traveled internationally as a Merchant Banker. I would give most anything I had to re-enter any business with an international flavor.

In fact, I am currently looking at several companies to acquire/invest in that source their products overseas. I make no apologies for the fact that certain prodcuts simply cannot be made in the US for a price that Wally-world customers want to pay.

The myopic narrow-minded nimwits simply amaze me.

Go ahead, flame away. Remember, I will not and do not make no apologies for my views. I am a business person that puts my own money on the line. I'm not in life to be a charity.

You bet I'll flame away. Excuse me, but some people are morons. I'm personally 110% in favor of any business anywhere having the right to own and operate interests in any other country. Some people seem to be the missing the point here: some of us really don't care if Heinz owns companies outside the US. What does bother us is the fact that John Kerry whines about other American companies having overseas interests at the cost of American jobs, while his wife's HJ Heinz Company does it at the tune of 57 out of their 79 plants- that's over 72% of their total number of plants. How many Americans are employed at those 57 plants? How many Americans lost their jobs because of those 57 plants? Maybe we'll never know, but one thing is certain: it's okay for Kerry and his wife to send American jobs overseas, but it's not okay for anyone else? I don't think so.

Heinz can send jobs overseas all day long for all I care. But Kerry doesn't need to blow the "The-President's-letting-our-jobs-go-overseas" gas out of his hypocritical butt.

In my hometown, the heart of Heinz country - Pittsburgh, PA - I can't tell you how many Heinz products in stores, including the famous Heinz ketchup is made in CANADA. Pittsburgh has its own factory - why do we need Canadian products?

I SOOO wanted to post something on this topic. You did a fine job of laying it out.

It's amazing at how the KERRY CAMP talk so DOWN about outsourcing but yet Mr. Heinz...err ..ahhh.. KERRY's... wife's own company "outsourced" over half of HER company. "They speak with forked tounge." And what's worse.. The Politically IGNORANT.. sop it with a biscuit. God Help Us!

Uh, thanks for the rage. You missed the point. Kerry has been blaming Bush for "outsourcing," when the intelligent response to the worldwide manufacturing efforts of a multinational company would be, that's the way business is done in today's world. I meant Kerry's intelligent--honest-- response, not yours.

Mrs. Heinz Kerry's company seems to particularly favor the employee pool in Asia, where workers come dirt cheap and slave labor is not unknown.

The question here is what is Heinz paying their workers when Kerrry wants us to raise the minimum wage to $7 an hour?
