Their profits in Asia are huge, as they make them there, with cheap labor and real estate costs, and they are more expensive too!

If this was a Republican, this would be a main talking point for Democrats and journalists. Alas, as Kerry is a Democrat, the public at large will never hear about this. It'd be a good comeback for Bush in a debate, though, when Kerry inevitably brings up outsourcing.

yes, we need to know if they make things that are made for the US or overseas.

There are plenty of Fords built overseas that stay overseas...

and lots of weird food products overseas made by American companies, that you dont see in the US

This is an interesting thread. I have a younger relative who said that a large percentage of the computer tech outsourcing jobs are from companies controlled by left wing CEOs, who donate big time to the Rats. It would be interesting if someone made a list for us to see how many outsourcing CEOs are elite rats.

In the meantime we can deal with Heinz.

Heinz Products to boycott!:

Bagel Bites, Boston Market, Catelli, Classico, EZ Marinader, Farley's Baby Food, Greanseas, Guloso, Heinz Products, Jack Daniel's Grilling Sauce, John West, Linda McCartney Meals, Mr. Yoshida's Fine Sauces, Ne-nerina, Olivine, Ore Ida, Orlando, Plasmon, Ploughman's Pickles, Polly Mi Chicha, Polly Rice Flour, Poppers, Rosetto, Salad Cream, Smart Ones, Tinytums, Watties, Weight Watchers, Wylers

So how do we find out just how many US jobs Heinz has outsourced? IOW what is their non-US employment?

Since 60% of their sales are abroad, I'd bet 50% of their employees are non-US. That's got to be tens of thousands of people.

Excellent Catch! Post this extensive list on billboards in major cities with the caption..."Everyone now knows your stance on outsourcing to foreign countries. What lie will you tell next?" Or you can have a campaign ad with a rolling list of these companies and super impose the above quote. Get busy Bush!

Time to boycott Heinz!

I found a dollar store in Portland, Oregon that sells Heinz food products for only a dollar. Why pay full retail price for a product that was made overseas? Never again will I go to a supermarket and pay the shelf-price. Never again!

F'Heinz, Heinz Foundations, and Heinz Ketchup Boy!

BFD. If some you had your way, then no American company would have any locations, employees or business outside the USA. Did you ever stop to think these companies are producing products in foreign companies for foreign markets?

I worked for Heinz briefly after graduation from Duke University Fuqua School of Busioness (MBA). Subsequently, I traveled internationally as a Merchant Banker. I would give most anything I had to re-enter any business with an international flavor.

In fact, I am currently looking at several companies to acquire/invest in that source their products overseas. I make no apologies for the fact that certain prodcuts simply cannot be made in the US for a price that Wally-world customers want to pay.

The myopic narrow-minded nimwits simply amaze me.

Go ahead, flame away. Remember, I will not and do not make no apologies for my views. I am a business person that puts my own money on the line. I'm not in life to be a charity.

I hate to bring up this point, but most of these factories will be to make products to sell IN THE NATIVE COUNTRIES. How many of these are used to manufacture stuff that is exported to the US. Not many I think

In Plato’s Republic, he asks whether a person would act in a moral way if he were invisible. I believe that the answer depends on whether the person is religious or not. Religious people would continue to act morally because they would not be invisible from God. Secular people would feel free of all constraint and might not be moral.

The Democrats are secular and have been made invisible to the voters by the press. That is what allows Kerry to make these outrageous statements such as the one last month, “When I am president, and with your help, we’re going to repeal every benefit, every loophole, every reward that entices any Benedict Arnold company or CEO to take the money and the jobs overseas and stick the American people with the bill.” He knows that the mainstream press will not mention that Kerry is heavily invested in companies that send jobs overseas and that employees at 25 companies that outsource jobs have contributed more than $370,000 to Kerry’s campaign.

This is the link

Hey I was just about to post this on another thread.

The only thing I was going to defend was Banana Ketchup from PI it was a staple in our home growing up but I never remembered a Heinz Label on it.

Here's what I have but it looks alot like what you posted.
Kerry's wife

----- Original Message ----- Subject: John Kerry's wife

Kerry's Wife a 'Benedict Arnold CEO'?

One of Sen. John Kerry's favorite stump speech tag lines these days is a blast at "Benedict Arnold CEOs [who] send American jobs overseas." But he never gets around to mentioning his wife's Heinz Foods empire, which seems to be leading the pack in exporting jobs from America into the Third World.

Reporting for Tech Central Station, James Glassman revealed Wednesday, "The Kerry family business, H.J. Heinz Co. of Pittsburgh, operates 22 factories in the United States and 57 in foreign countries."

A quick check of the Heinz corporate Web site seems to confirm the fact that the Democratic presidential front-runner is married to one of America's worst corporate traitors, at least according to the way he defines the term.

Under World Locations, Mrs. Heinz Kerry's webmaster lists Heinz plants throughout the Third World, including the Middle East, Africa, Southern Africa, the Pacific Rim and Asia.

Mrs. Heinz Kerry's company seems to particularly favor the employee pool in Asia, where workers come dirt cheap and slave labor is not unknown.

Here are just a few of the locations where Sen. Kerry's corporate bucaneer missus has her Third World workers toiling overtime to keep the prospective first couple living in style:
