The fun is being taken out of everything! 14 second delay? Why watch it!
I can't be at the tracks, so watching it LIVE is the next best thing! But a 14-second-delay! I'm just shaking my head here. A LOT of kids were brought UP in the Pits!

They can't say George Carlins 7 dirty words, but it's till OK to show the crashes. You can't say the F-bomb, but human death is still fun for the whole family.

I can't see where a 14 second delay makes any [negative] difference whatsoever.
Why the outrage?

First they take Winston out, now this. Don't know what Sauter said but it couldn't be any worse than some of the stuff they said after a race 10-15 years ago

I don't see what's the problem. You probably wouldn't even know if they didn't tell you and I won't have to worry about my kid watching the race without hearing Mongo's inappropriate comments. Bleep, bleep bleep.

I dunno. I used to be based out of Charlotte. The southern tradition does not have room for people who use profanity in a public setting.
I know that's a shock to the rest of the world, but it's not good manners.

14 second delay? Why watch it! Just pretend you're watching it on Tivo.

The sunlight you see outside is on an 8 minute delay so what's the big deal with 14 seconds?

Please use the published title only. Thank you.

The fun is being taken out of everything! 14 second delay? Why watch it!Because seeing it delayed 14 seconds doesn't change anything.

Why watch it!I'm havinfg a hard time understanding what the problem is. I suppose if you don'r want to watch it, that's ok but what would be the big difference between 'live' and delayed by 14 sec? It's standard operating procedure for 'live' talk radio for obvious reasons and I think the rationale for doing it on this telecast is about the same.

1. Ironic to hear that *Fox* is concerned about what it broadcasts for fear of being offensive.
2. Why not just ban the driver from being interviewed if they act up? Or not mention their car/sponsor? Or, even better, mention their sponsor prominently?
If a driver or crew member uses profanity on air, the interviewer will immediately end the exchange, apologize for what was said, and then sent the program back to the booth announcers, according to director Artie Kempner.

This is not new for NASCAR. Drivers have been fined in the past for foul language. A few years ago, Rusty Wallace was fined for saying the work "sucks" after the interviewer asked Rusty what Dale E. Sr had whispered in his ear. Rusty replied he said "that sucks". $2,000 I believe was the fine.
I know and use all the nasty words while in the proper enviornment but it is nice to see a sport "TRY" and keep the vocabulary elevated. The NFL, NBA, MLB seem to care less.

NASCAR has been getting pretty boring lately. What was it Ricky Rudd said a few weeks ago? Something like, "The only way I can tell if we are in Chicago or Kansas City is to read the name on the wall as I'm going around."

I don't know squat about this, but, that never stopped me before.PRN is Nascar on the radio right?So....doesn't a delay make it easier for say, satellite viewers to turn down the tv clowns and listen to a more closely synced radio play-by-play instead?
