Schwarzenegger to Visit Israel

In his first trip to a foreign capital since being elected governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger will travel to Israel in May to dedicate a museum celebrating tolerance.

"Governor Schwarzenegger has accepted our invitation and will be the guest speaker at the ground-breaking ceremony on May 2," Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles and director of the Museum of Tolerance, told the Haaretz news service on Sunday.

Rabbi Heir said he was proud that the actor-turned-politican had selected Israel for his first official overseas visit.

The Jerusalem Museum of Tolerance, set for completion in 2007, will be more than twice the size of its Los Angeles counterpart and is the Wiesenthal Center's largest project to date.

The California Republican, who's been involved with the Wiesenthal Center for the past 15 years, is scheduled to speak at a gala dinner for the Center at Jerusalem's King David hotel after the dedication.

May 2nd, huh?

Will he sign SB60, the Gil Cedillo Drivers Licenses for Illegals legislation before or after he goes?

Enquiring minds want to know. ;-)

Well I hope the governor is paying his own airfare and hotel tab. Ahnold ought to try "visiting" the governor's office. At least look like he's doing something constructive like maybe halting the state's runaway spending. Here it is March and I haven't seen one department or even one government job eliminated. In 1950 only 5% of the population of America was employed by the government. Today 40% of the American population who work are employed by the government. Heck, at this rate, we're going to make the old Soviet Union look like a capitalist utopia. Eliminate the state income tax and maybe these morons in Sacramento will actually start finding ways to cut the budget. Hmmmmm a referendum to eliminate the state income tax?? interesting...

Bustamente gets to be governor while he is gone, and can sign any legislation during that time.

If the legislature passes SB60 again, then maybe Bustamente signs it.

a museum celebrating tolerance

How do you build a museum around a behavior?

museum--A building, place, or institution devoted to the acquisition, conservation, study, exhibition, and educational interpretation of objects having scientific, historical, or artistic value.

tolerance--the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others.

A musuem built around the way someone acts? That just seems so strange.

Well, wouldn't that be convenient for Arnold and supporters? It's all Cruz's fault.

I was wondering about that. It's not like no one knows how California law works.

I guess that argument that a vote for Tom is a vote for Cruz would be invalidated were this to happen, actually, if either Cruz or Arnold signed it. ;-)

Hey, I love a conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, but there is no way they can get 1160 into play before a referendum killing it gets into play (unless they can get a bunch of Republicans to agree to an Urgency Bill, which cannot happen in the timeframe for Arnie to get out.

If 1160 passes OR if any taxes are raised, I will start personally start "Recall II: Terminate the Terminator" and this time we will keep McClintock on Radio and off TV and get him elected!
