Pew Foundation to Albright to Today Show - Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy?
The Today Show

Posted on 03/17/2004 4:40:00 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Just two days ago, Hillary Clinton, coming to the defense of John Kerry on his "lying, crooked" comment, rehashed her famous comment, made on the Today Show, that Bill Clinton had been the target of a "vast right-wing conspiracy," now claiming that Kerry is the target of a similar operation.

Well, Today viewers this morning were treated to prime example of the vast left-wing . . . well, we're not paranoid enough to call it a 'conspiracy.' Let's just describe it as an 'interlocking directorate.'

Here's what happened: yesterday, the liberal Pew Foundation published a study finding, among other things, that people in Germany and France don't agree with our policy in Iraq (surprise!) and think the Bush administration was misleading on the WMD issue (I'm shocked!). Oh, and guess what? Many in the Muslim world don't like us either, and many do like OBL (who would of thunk it?)

Well, guess who just happens to be the Chair of the Pew Foundation's "Global Attitudes Project," which commissioned the study? Why, none other than former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright! And guess who Madame Albright is advising on foreign policy? Well I'll be darned, it's John Kerry!

And finally, guess who turned up on The Today Show this morning to tout the findings of her poll and solemnly declare that the results are "troubling" and suggest that we need a change in direction? Why, none other than the Ms. Mint-on-the-Pillow herself!

Interviewer Matt Lauer tried to give Albright some cover (thank goodness. The last thing anyone could take in the morning would be an uncovered Madeleine Albright). He gave her the chance to answer the question whether her chairing of the Pew committee that ordered the study brings its findings into question. No, she assured us. She "might have her own views, but facts are facts."

They sure are.

Ah poor Ms. Maddie, she probably pines for the time when she was treated in North Korea as Queen for a day, while the population of North Korea was eating tree bark.

while the population of North Korea was eating tree bark.

Don't go bad-mouthin' tree bark, now. You fix yourself up a mess of fresh pine tree sapling bark with some fried squirrel brains, and you got yourself some mighty fine eatin'! Course it always helps to have some white lightning what to wash it down with!

And Zogby is very supportive of Muslim attitudes.

And Heinz-Kerry is funding many 'humanitarian' groups, most of which just happen to support Kerry. And, of course, the Peace group that found the 9-11 families to protest GWB using images from 9-11.

Sort of sounds like a Vast LEFT Wing Conspiracy, huh.

Other than the fact that some of them might be abusing their tax free status, I have no problem with Dems working together in an attempt to defeat W. That's democracy after all. What bugs me is the incredible hypocrisy of Hillary and the rest. They can't stand it when Republicans do just like the Dems.

What kind of tripe was the Noonan, lefty spokesman,MattL interview? You'd think Kerry hadn't been bashing and calling Bush a liar for weeks..Oooo... so negative now that Kerry is called a liar..Piffle.

I do agree dark and dirty gets old.,A "Morning in America" ad like I've seen Bush running here is good, but they didn't mention it.

I like everyone piling on Kerry finally!....;)

"The Today show is so biased the Republicans should ask for equal time"

Don't worry we are going to get our shot. Personally, I can't wait for Savage tonight. We are definitely go to hear about half-brite cooking a brisket. That cracks me up every time!

The Left has been telling us how much we are disliked by foreigners for some time, now they want us to consider how people who dislike us want us to vote.

I don't think Kerry's lie is as important as the fact he feels there is some sort of value in exhorting America to consider what America-haters think we should do when voting.

that people in Germany and France don't agree with our policy in Iraq

They don't have to agree, they have to obey. These people won't be happy until The White House is turned into a mosque...and even then it'll be the wrong color.

Oh my word. The incestuous nature of the democratic spin machine is just amazing. Thanks for filling me in on the "org. chart."

I just had to laugh when I saw that Madeline is Kerry's foreign policy advisor. I didn't know that until today. I guess the Today show did serve a useful purpose for me this morning.

R.A.M. - I like it. I guess we have to make up some new bumper stickers now. "I'm a proud member of R.A.M." instead of "I'm a proud member of the VRWC."

Does the Today Show really think they are doing a good job or do they just not care as long as their message gets through? I'm sure Matt just took the "facts are facts" bit as truth and dropped any other confrontational line of questioning.

Did Matt ask her about that CIA tape of al Qaeda and bin Laden from the fall of 2000? After all, that was an NBC exclusive...

(Really enjoyed your clever and pointed write-up of this appearance)

Who gives a flying you-know-what what France and Germany think? Since when do we run this country based on what fair weather allies think, much less what our enemies think? I hope that most Americans won't take this into consideration when they vote in November.

And I used to think Gore stretched the truth. Kerry makes Gore look like George Washington in the truth telling department. What is Kerry thinking? That people won't realize what he's doing?

I don't think Matt went down that road with Maddie.
Seems like Lisa Meyers gets the interesting stories but NBC never follows up. She did the interview with Juanita Brodderick and now this OBL thing. But we won't hear another word about it.
