"We wanted to symbolize the war the United States imposed on the Iraqi people," said a spokesman for the group who did not want to be identified.
So....Paul should have car-bombed them.

Funny, the article doesn't say anything at all about their being arrested for trespassing, disturbing the peace, etc. etc. I wonder if the French police even bothered.

Silly Socialists. This, along with the reaction of the socialists worldwide regarding the liberation of Iraq, should be a lesson to all those enamored with socialism. Notice how they have no problem with a dictator. This is their ultimate aim for the rest of us, but only if we let them.

"...and we want to remind him that when he comes here to rest, the bombs continue to fall on the Iraqi people."
No they don't. I don't even know the last time a bomb was dropped in Iraq, let alone on non-combatants.
But I guess facts or naked truth never matters to these people.

French Basques Thursday stormed the grounds of the holiday home of Paul Bremer, the U.S. chief administrator in Iraq, to protest against the American-led invasion of the country.I didn't know we'd invaded France.
OK, it's just bad editing.
But I wonder how long it will be before we have to invade France --AGAIN, to save them from aggressors AGAIN to whom they've capitulated AGAIN.
To: areafiftyone
I just checked on Mapquest - Amb. Bremer's house is near the West coast city of Biarritz, which is very close to Spain. It's also an area that is growing quite a bit as people migrate from the congested areas on the French Riviera. There's some definite investment value in a house there.
As to why Bremer has a house in France, he did go to school in Paris. Speaks fluent French.

Hey Bremer -- maybe the next time you're "holiday home" hunting, you'll consider an American getaway.

Errr, for those folks who haven't made the connection
EUSKADI == Basque Homeland (in the native Basque tougue)
for those who still haven't made the connection,
ETA == "Basque Liberation Army" in Basque
for those who still haven't made the connection,
ETA=IRA=HAMAS=FARC=CHAVEZ=CASTRO=AL_QAEDA=MIR
also known as the world socialist vanguard.
The Clintons, demonrats and Kerry are all second string...

Someone else suggested the Basques and the AlQaeda might be in cahoots--this story makes me wonder about that, too.

"We wanted to symbolize the war the United States imposed on the Iraqi people," Did they leave $1 billion dollars in cash for reconstruction of Bremer's house then?

I can't get rid of a creepy suspicion that ETA was responsible for the Madrid bombing of 3/11/04.
- The election of the Spanish Socialist party was very advantageous to ETA. The Socialists are well known to be soft of Basque separatist ideals.
- The ETA has proven they are cold-blooded killers.
- "Framing" Al Queda by planting a "van with Koran music" and bomb making materials is too easy.
- ETA advances their position and that of Al Queda.
Cold Blooded Perfection

Doesn't sound like a particularly violent or menacing bunch. Apparently, the group evacuated hysterically from the home when a firecracker sent a mouse scrambling from a kitchen cabinet.
