KERRY ON KERRY: RECKLESS AND IRRESPONSIBLE

This is from "Face the Nation" on September 14, 2003:
Sen. KERRY: I think we need--I think we need to roll back the top end of the Bush tax cut.
McMANUS: If that amendment does not pass, will you then vote against the $87 billion?
Sen. KERRY: I don't think any United States senator is going to abandon our troops and recklessly leave Iraq to--to whatever follows as a result of simply cutting and running. That's irresponsible. What is responsible is for the administration to do this properly now. And I am laying out the way in which the administration could unite the American people, could bring other countries to the table, and I think could give the American people a sense that they're on the right track. There's a way to do this properly. But I don't think anyone in the Congress is going to not give our troops ammunition, not give our troops the ability to be able to defend themselves. We're not going to cut and run and not do the job.
Look, we could--we could do this job over a period of time at greater loss, at greater risk, and with much loss around the world with respect to the United States. The question is will we do this the best way possible so that we do the best to protect our troops and the best to advance the safety and security of the United States?
SCHIEFFER: Senator, let me...
Sen. KERRY: My plan will do that.

Beautiful. As long as the liberal press refuses to hold him responsible for his false attacks, and for his lies and flip-flops, this man will say and do anything. Thank God for FR, conservative talk show hosts, and Britt Hume.
I am actually coming to believe that this man is worse then Clinton, in all things. I never thought that this would be possible, but the rats just keep dredging up these dispicable candidates.
To: woodyinscc
He is worse than Clinton.
He's flat-out dangerous.
The man is a coward and an appeaser.
I think he might also be a traitor.

It's a target-rich environment! Add to this the admission today by his campaign staff that he was at the VVAW meeting that discussed the murder of 7 pro-war Senators.
The poor guy is off balance--or is that unbalanced. Kerry won't be able to frame the issues the way that he needs to if he's to have any chance in November. This is not going to be a closed election IMHO.

LOL If Bush runs against Kerry's ads he'll have to get a clone to cover both Kerry's pro and con positions (on the same subjects... it might even have to be 2 campaign strategies ;)

Actually, I agree with Kristol. Presidential re-elections are more about the incumbent. This race will be about one thing-- Bush's job approval rating on Nov. 2. 50% or higher and Bush wins. Period. As bad as Kerry is, that's what this will come down to. Kristol is an idiot McCainiac. When has he ever said anything good about President Bush?
An attack on Kerry on this and other flip-flops can make him look so bad that nobody in his right mind would vote for him. It's called ridicule.

The FNC aired a clip of Kerry being interviewed on CBS's Face The Nation between the time he voted "for" the 87 billion dollar funding for U.S. troops and his ultimate vote against that same bill.
The FNC panel then had some choice words afterwards.
Audio was grabbed from Hugh Hewitt's brilliant yack show on the dial......
Squeeze here for audio
-------------
You gotta hear this audio---then remember that HE voted AGAINST the $87 Billion for Iraq.

I stated on another thread today that I don't think he was repelled by the assassination plan so much as he realized it was politically stupid.
I'll bet he considered it and rejected after realizing they'd never get away with it (not that I think he would dirty his own hands, mind you).
Just hear how he talks about Republicans to this very day. The contempt oozes out.

Man, I could write the commercial and I have absolutely no experience in advertising.I was thinking the same. Just name the ad "Kerry in his own words", I think people should actually be embarrassed to vote for him.

Exactly. That is my take also.

why would they allow such a flawed candidate to get this far.
Clinton got elected, not once but twice... so things do happen and the electorate can make what would seem to be off the wall choices.
