"I don't think any United States senator is going to abandon our troops and recklessly leave Iraq"

That is because only a United States President can abandon our troops and recklessly leave Iraq.

He is worse than Clinton. He's flat-out dangerous. The man is a coward and an appeaser. I think he might also be a traitor.

Succinct and very well stated.

They took him off the campaign trail because being on vacation was politically less damaging than letting him keep running his arrogant, elitist, nasty mouth.

Both elections you cite -- 1988 and 2000 - had no incumbent president.

The re-election of an incumbent president ultimately becomes a referendum on that person's record in office. In 1980 Carter tried to "demonize" Reagan, but ultimately it was the failure of the Carter presidency that made Reagan an acceptable alternative to the country.

Bush will be judged ultimately on his record -- terrorism, Iraq, the economy. All the attacks on Kerry -- ultimately -- will either bolster or contradict any voter's assessment of the Bush record.

I just checked your profile page. You do not have to apologize for the "mess."

Thank you :0)

Kristol is an idiot McCainiac. When has he ever said anything good about President Bush?

From July 2001...
For a Total Ban on Human Cloning

The administration deserves credit for taking an unequivocal position against all human cloning, in the face of pressure from some in the biotech industry.

From October 2002...I won't excerpt since the whole article is full of praise for Dubya
From Truth to Deception

From July of last year
Bush Suckers the Democrats

KARL ROVE is a genius. No--Rove probably gets more credit than he deserves for political smarts, and the president gets too little, so let's rephrase that: George W. Bush is a genius.

Lets check this week's article at the Weekly Standard...
The Crisis in Europe

This week marked the first anniversary of the war in Iraq. President Bush's remarks included eloquent restatements of the justice of the war, assertions of progress made over the last year, and a reiteration of our commitment to see Iraq through to peaceful self-rule. THE WEEKLY STANDARD agrees with virtually every word in those speeches.
