John Kerry's vote against the $87 Bil for the soldiers is just another data point in a very long trend. BOdy armor heck. If Kerry had his way, our soldiers would be lucky if they weren't equipping themselves at the local US Cav or Ranger Joe's.

If Kerry had had his way in the 1980's, we'd be in a sorry, sorry state right now militarily, with weapon systems of Vietnam-era vintage.
Central America would be Red, most likely under Cuban hegemony and Soviet protection. Russia would still be under the Soviet yoke, with the Iron Curtain still dividing Europe.
