Another inelegant grab of links and quips, but be certain to follow the links within the links, which lead to more links, to get to the bottom of this story.

Reporter Tom Lipscomb Slated For Scarborough Country Tonight - VVAW Assassination Story Alert

I don't know if you heard that John Gibson had Randy Barnes, the MO Kerry coordinator and ex-VVAW member on yesterday too. Barnes basically used the talking points that Larry O. used....no truth to the story, only one guy came up with idea which was immediately hooted down etc.

A comment on this blog points out their lie though and I'll post it here:

John Gibson, interviewing a VVAW member who was at the 1971 KC meeting on Fox just moments ago, asked if Kerry was there. The gentleman said he did not remember Kerry being at the meeting at all.

But Gibson's redirect won the day. Gibson outlined the Phoenix Program (a military operation aimed at knocking off North Vietnamese leaders) and talked about Scott Camil's suggestion that VVAW pursue a domestic Phoenix operation to kill US Senators supporting the war. Gibson asked the vet (I didn't catch his name) how Kerry reacted to the plan. The vet said Kerry didn't like the plan and loudly argued against it. He thereby accidentally proved that Kerry was there at the meeting, and that he (the vet Gibson was interviewing) was not telling the truth when he said he did not recall Kerry being at the meeting at all. He did recall Kerry's presence enough to remember details about the argument, he just lied about it when asked directly earlier in the inverview.

Thanks for all the links. I heard Tom Lipscomb on the John Batchelor (Monica Crowley) WABC Radio program last night discussing his articles about this. What I find totally amazing is that Kerry has stated he "has no recollection" of attending such a meeting. The FBI files prove that he WAS there, and he CONTINUED to serve as the spokesman for this radical group for another year or two! So his claim that he "resigned" cannot be proven.

If I had attended a meeting where someone suggested assassinating U.S. Senators, I would certainly REMEMBER being there! Especially if I was now serving as a U.S. Senator myself!!

Isn't it interesting that most, if not all, of the accusers in this story are democrat supporters of Kerry?

Part of the discussion on the radio last night between Monica Crowley and Tom Lipscomb was about the fact that the Kerry Campaign received a copy of the FBI files at the same time as the press (Lipscomb) and they STILL denied it until they actually read that Kerry had in fact attended the meetings. Then they were aghast that Kerry had lied about it. These people are blind defenders of a maniac.

This story will be seen as the turning point in the campaign. I have no doubt it will work its way onto the nightly news.

I believe that the DemocRat primary candidates underestimated the furor their negative attacks caused within the Bush campaign. To their credit, the Bush team bided its time and used the "rope a dope" tactic. The Democrats have no one who even approaches the stature of Powell, Rumsfeld, Rice, and Cheney - who have only now begun to wreak vengeance on the "presumed" candidate.

Kerry will be hard pressed to find a willing candidate for VP. This promises to be a very embarrassing time for DemocRats and the "Phoenix Program" revelation will provide most of the fodder.

I heard "it's only about sex" so much I wanted to puke. This time, there will be no excuses. And the way Kerry has attempted to preempt what took place in KC shows that he has already painted himself into a corner. He was an officer in the US Navy, for crying out loud! He's a liar.

Thanks for the info... this may be Mr. Kerry's "Yee-gah!" moment. ( apologies to Dr. Dean, who is probably charming when he isn't acting nuts for the I Hate Boosh crowd )

WASN'T A CRIME COMMITTED HERE?

Last night the issue came up on Joe Scarboros' show and the democrat defender got an odd frightened look in his eyes. The story scares democrats more than they've been scared in a long time.

Vic,

This is a nice comprehensive link to Project Phoenix. You might want to bounce the link via email to John if you want.
