Is there a way of reading archives of this forum? I'd like to read comments from 9-11-01 as the events unfolded. If anyone knows how to access FR's archives from that date, please let me know how. Thanks

There are archive threads out there that list all of the threads from that day. Perhaps others know where they are - they're in a lot of people's bookmarks.
Also, if you do a search, one you get to the second search page you can search the archives.

Here, and just keep hitting the show more threads link at the bottom to go further and further back into that day.

The only method I'm aware of is to search on a reasonably obscure keyword for the event(s) you are interested in, and then doing a painstaking "more results..." to go back in post time.

Reading my post #8 on that thread gives me the chills. I still find it impossible to read over those threads without being profoundly affected by the events of that day.

I don't know what I would have done without FR that day.
One of the small mercies afforded me was that I heard that the first tower fell on the radio, so I was prepared (as one could be) when I finally saw the footage.

I don't know what I would have done without FR that day. Neither do I. I, too, didn't see the towers fall because my office, at the time, didn't have a TV or cable. But that didn't blunt the horror or shock or pain of that day or the days to follow.
It still doesn't.

You and I had it nailed....in the first 8 posts.And I still don't know how I knew. I just knew.
I've tried to think backwards since that time to try to figure out how I knew it was him. I'd been reading about the trials of some of the guys involved in the bombings of our embassies in Tanzania and Kenya & one was about to be sentenced a couple days after 9/11. I think I thought it was a jailbreak. And in my gut, I figured OBL was coming back to finish the job he did in 1993. Probably a whole lot more reasons, but, for some reason, I just knew.
