>All of the "jewish talking heads" and the "Hollywood elite" got together and decided to play along with Mel by predenting to go nuts over the movie so the apparent controversy would get those dumb "gullible" sheeple to spend their $300 M plus. Let me adjust my Tin foil hat.

Thanks for the ping, Jay. For those of us with dial-up connections, this would be one major download. I'd appreciate a ping if you post a review of the book. I'd like to know your thoughts, if possible, before committing my PC to the task.
Yes, this is the guy who became known as "Scary Gary" during the Y2K hysteria, and he is a Christian reconstructionist. But, to give credit, Gary North has always been a heckuva writer and this may be a very good book.

You mean the New York Times was in on the plot? Just go back and read what they have said about Gibson, his film and his father.

It's not a "plot." It's
what pop culture is. Details
such as what is said
are irrelevant.
(When fish swim, it's not a "plot"
with them and water . . .)

BTW, I read on another Web site that a bank robber turned himself in after seeing Gibson's film. Also, a killer did this as extensively covered on FR.

Are you trying to tell us that Gibson paid the ADL to start this whole ruckus about the movie being anti-semitic?

The "Grey Lady" is now part of the "pop culture?" And of course academics like Paula Fredericksen and establishment organs like the New Republic? All these elites and Hollywood have in commmon is a common hatred of traditional Christianity. They are going to connive in a plot--it would have to be deliberate-- to gull Christians by exposing them to theological views that the plottters hate? You have to excuse me. but that sounds totally Clarke--ish

No, pop culture is
just a big machine. The parts
all do their own thing
but the net effect
is to strip mine our money.
(Jewish groups all knew
that just by talking
about Mel they'd hype his film.
But, at the same time,
they also knew they'd
get more donations from folks
who see their viewpoint.)
Everyone's "honest,"
everyone's speaking their mind,
but everyone knows
they're part of one big
machine. It's a machine that
just wants our money.

I'm sure they don't like
Christianity, but all

I will do what I can, Marsha.
Good to see you again!
Where's Karen? IS she out looking for WMD, or Mel?
BTW... My brother is attending a convention down in New Orleans, and rumor has it that Mel Gibson may be their keynote speaker today.

Ok I get it. Reductionism is cheaper than thinking.

I'm sure they don't like Christianity, but all are passionate for [money} I don't think you get it. Unlike the old Jews who ran Hollywood a half century ago, they do HATE Christianity and because the eastern elites share this hatred/contempt, they no longer have to defer to the faith of the majority of ordinary Americans. But you reallly don't know how RADICAL a departure this film is, do you? Unlike Crap like "The Greatest Story Ever Told," it actuallly disturbs audiences, far more deeply than "Saving Private Ryan." It is as if they were to make a film called "Gladiator" realisticallly without all the romantic touches. In a way it is like "Roots,"but pulling no punches.

Very good, what several dozen pages I've read.
I am most interested in looking at the area around page 100-140 or so. I would have liked the book to start with that historical stuff, but I'm no writer... I'm looking forward to studying those sections.

Bump! I just downloaded it and I'll read it bit by bit.
Thanks for the head's up!

but to businessmen, Christians are just another demographic, and -- judging from the way so many Christians have thrown their money into the business wallets to see The Passion -- they are a gullible one. Good product *deserves* money "into the business wallets".
Would you have it any other way?
To: theFIRMbss
You're wrong if you think the Hollywood media elite are trying to make money for their stockholders. Look at their stock performances. The elite want to use the media companies to push their propaganda. And their stockholders are getting fed up with their doing it.

Good post, and one that shines the spotlight of truth on the cultural elite's war against our traditional, historically Judeo-Christian, values. Another example is CBS. Their ratings have been going down the toilet for a long time, and they do know why. Instead of implementing new policies that would reverse the trend, they give us commentary by Andy Rooney. Despite their admission that they received more emails and phone calls reviling Rooney's Gibson hit piece than any show in CBS history, they see no need to apologize. In fact, they allowed Rooney to address the issue a second time just to heap more ridicule on the outraged viewers.

Gibson has touched a nerve. In full public view, he challenged the cultural powers that be. He beat them to a pulp in full public view. Whether he can do it again is now of major concern to Hollywood and the Establishment media. If he (or anyone else) does it again, the Hollywood system will be history. Christians and conservatives can produce and market their own films. We should get rid of Hollywood and Big network television. There is no reason Hollywood or New York should control video media anymore. Their reign of terror and error is over. "The emperor wears no clothes."
They are clueless and valueless. Completely out of touch with reality...and American culture. It's time to get rid of the anti-Christian media.
