Well, I dunno...
"John Kerry is incredibly American," says Brice Lalonde, Kerry's cousin and mayor of this seaside Brittany village. "He has absolutely nothing French about him."Kerry's not really a Frenchman. He just plays one on TV.
Nice of this French fellow to tell us what makes someone "American." But my goodness, we're too dumb to determine what makes someone French. I guess they know more than we do about "American-ness" too! Ah, the arrogance... yup, this guy is definitely a Kerry.
Saint Briac, near the port city of Saint Malo, is a place of rugged seascapes and narrow, cobbled lanes that inspired Renoir and other Impressionists. It was here that the Massachusetts senator spent boyhood summers and has said he traced his first inspiration to become a politician.
Why am I not surprised that Kerry's political career was inspired by his residence in France?
"He introduced us to games like capture the flag. We still play something called kick the can," said Lalonde, who at 58 is two years Kerry's junior.
Well, I guess we know what the next "manly man" photo op will be. From the AP: "A fit John Kerry, the Democratic nominee, plays 'kick the can' with staffers during a campaign break."
Like his American cousin, Lalonde ran for president. But that was 1981 and he received less than 4 percent of the French vote.
Dare we hope these election results represent a family trend?
"The president of the United States -- it's not a question of going shrimping."
Hmmm. I may have found my new tagline.
Somehow I imagine them spitting this out in disgust....as they (once again) show their ingratitude for the fact that they don't speak German today.
So many lies errors, so little time..
1) The town Mr. Kohn was born in is in BOHEMIA.
2) Bohemians are not, repeat NOT, "ethnic Germans!" They are... gee this is a toughie, Bohemians.
3) Calling a Bohemian a Czech (forget german) is like calling a Scott or a Welshman an Englishman. Or in the days of the USSR calling a 'slovak' a czech because they both lived in Czechoslovakia.
4) Bohemia was once a seperate kingdom and IS a sperate etnicity (think Bosnia) and should have formed it's OWN republic when when Czechoslovakia 'broke up'. Why they decided to align with Morovia and form the Czech republic is somwhat puzzeling to me, but I'm sure they had a reason.
(is Kerry ashamed of being BOHEMIAN?)
Hope he's using the right version:
