Rush had a satelite photo of the 707 on his website for a long time.

Yes, I've seen it. There is very little doubt that the 707 was at Salman Pak and that it was use for terrorist training.

What is missing from all of this is any evidence at all that any of these "trainees" did anything after they were trained but go home to their mommy. I have never seen anything that identified any known terrorist as having been trained at Salman Pak. If the evidence exists it remains classified. If it is classified I am wondering why. There is no obvious reason.

"If there is already a congressional investigation into 9/11, why was this Commission established? (I suspect the answer is that the anti-Bush crowd was screaming for it.)"

There's no other apparent reason.  Double jeopardy?  Here's a link to the Senate findings.

In 1998, the Clinton administration alerted Pakistan to our imminent missile strikes in Afghanistan, despite the links between Pakistan's intelligence service and al Qaeda. Mr. Clarke excuses this decision--bin Laden managed to flee just before the strikes--as a diplomatic necessity.

This kind of thing needs to be better known before the Democrats sneak another one into the White House.

"I have never seen anything that identified any known terrorist as having been trained at Salman Pak"

That's a good point! Why don't you send an email to Miniter and see if he knows anything he can tell you. I'd be interested to know the answer to this also.

I have implored people to please not post important articles at night on the west coast. I read the WSJ articles at 9pm also, but I never post them anymore. I learned the hard way. It took me awhile to figure out why they never got much attention. I guess sometimes I am not as smart as I think I am. The only solution is to repost it.

Please someone else repost this article.

He asked her many questions, but the one I wish to point to was that she opined that Bush and Cheney speaking privately to the committee might result in them being "less than truthful".

Did they ask her what she thought of Clinton and Gore testifying privately to the committee? I'll bet no. Breitweister makes me ill. She's the same woman who condemned Bush for even mentioning 9/11 in an ad, while at the same time saying that he was responsible for 9/11! Everything that comes out of her mouth is full of bile. I guess it's too much to expect for some reporter to do his/her homework and confront her with the litany of hateful, outrageous statements she has made.

The professional victims among the 9/11 families have co-opted the victimization of all the families, and have set themselves up as the only "legitimate" (or media-recognized) spokespersons of those who lost people on 9/11. Despite their howls of protest over the first Bush ad, it is they who have politicized the loss of their family members. We all feel for their loss, but we are getting sick of their act.

They're literally the most well-compensated victims in the history of the world, but it's still not enough. It just makes me sick.

MSNBC, perhaps more than any other news outlet, has politicized the 9/11 Commission hearings. It seems that every weasel on the commission who wants face time on TV runs to MSNBC.

I heard that MSNBC is now advertising "Scarborough Country" as being somewhere between left and right. Is that true? Are they trying to tone down their only conservative?

Dare I say it, that some of us anonymous Americans probably grieve more for the loss of the victims of 9/11 than these reputed "family members"? These despicable people have cheapened the loss of their own loved ones. They have earned our distain.

I haven't watched Scarborough for awhile, but I have heard grumblings that Joe has been tossing softballs at his leftist guests. One would almost think that MSNBC is owned by Viacom.

Am I the only one who feels this way?
&&&&

Of course not! The grief for the lives lost and lives changed by September 11 was profound. Part of that grief was for the unalterable change that had happened to our country.

Some of these families, and I venture say they are probably the families who won't settle financially with the 9/11 foundation and want to individually sue everyone with a bank account.

They have turned themselves into some kind of glorified martyrs, and yet families lose loved ones every day from one cause or another. It is way past time for these agitators to go grieve somewhere quietly.

I just saw that Zinni,no friend of Bush as far as criticizing his war plans, said Clarke wanted to send missiles into Kandahar because intelligence thought Bin Ladin was there.

They figured it would kill 15 thousand people and refused.Clarke called him a criminal and later they find out Bin Laden wasn't there after all.

Chipping away at the myth.
