New York - Sources high up in the Democratic National Committee say that there is a strong push for Senator Hillary Clinton to push for the presidential nomination this fall.
One senior official as the Democratic National Committee stated "I just do not believe that John Kerry can beat George W Bush. He is not gaining any traction and is even losing support as he is letting himself be defined by Bush. It's going to be Michael Dukakis all over again. We need to make sure our candidate at this convention can unite all the democrats in our party, and also defeat George Bush. The best person that can do that is Hillary Clinton.
While Hillary Clinton has strong support among democrats, republicans oppose her just as strongly. Stephen Austin is among them. "Hillary Clinton is a left-wing extremist, and that's the bottom line!" Duane Johnson, the assistant press secretary for Bush-Cheney 04, simply said "It doesn't matter who they run."
We'll keep a close eye on this situation as it develops.

If they go with this tactic, the Democrats lose a major line of attack. All that business about "Bush stole the last election", "all the votes weren't counted", etc. loses quite a bit of its punch if the Democrats nominate someone who received no primary votes whatsoever.
Of course, I personally think Bush won fair and square in 2000. But the Democrats have convinced some people that Bush stole the election.

If Hillary runs even my perma-drunk, redneck, never voted in their lives, I think I'm conservative because I'm not a pussy, friends of mine will be at the voting booth to vote against Hillary (not necassarily for Bush).

A Lesbian. HA HA HA...Now the people of the USA will learn her true leanings.
They've got one thing right, Kerry can't beat Bush...but neither can Hitlery.

Seems like a pretty good way to throw the topic out there......."Oh, I was only foolin'. There's nothing to this".....Yet, the germ of the idea is planted.

I saw another article last night, suggesting this scenario as a possibility. The Democrats know Kerry is unelectable.

I can't see this as anything but fantasy and daydreaming by a few Dems who are sour on Kerry's chances. I can't imagine any way this could possible happen unless something physically happened to Kerry; then it is quite possible a draft-Hillary campaign could emerge. Kerry's been campaigning for over a year, and he's not going to stand down for Hillary.

In every poll I've seen when Hitlery runs against Bush his numbers go up an additional 5%. Bring it on !

I refuse to say I told you so--repeatedly.
Might not happen, but it's her best shot.
