Man Dressed As Tigger Allegedly Molests Girl, Mother At Disney World

LOS ANGELES -- A Walt Disney World employee who worked as the character "Tigger" was charged Friday with molesting a 13-year-old girl and her mother while posing with them for pictures.

Michael Chartrand, 36, was arrested and charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child between 12 and 15 and one count of simple battery.He was booked at the Orange County Jail on a $2,500 bond.

A Disney spokeswoman said Chartrand has been suspended without pay.

The sheriff's office received a complaint that a costumed character at Disney World had touched a girl and her mother inappropriately while their pictures were being taken Feb. 21.

According to an incident report, Chartrand fondled the breasts of the girl and the mother while posing for pictures at the Magic Kingdom's Toon Town.

"As the photo was being taken, the victim claims that Tigger moved his right hand up to her right breast and started massaging it several times," the report said. "The victim became very embarrassed and ashamed of the incident and claims that she did not say anything to her mother until they left the park."

The girl later learned that the costumed character had done the same thing to her mother with his left hand, according to the report.

The girl and her father reported the incident Feb. 29.

Before everyone gets their panties in a twist here, consider the following:

Has anyone looked at those suits? The hands on those things are very thick gloves. Even if the guy was feeling the woman up, he wouldnt have felt anything.

And Disney does do background checks for the cast members that are in public contact like this. In fact, did you know these guys are teamsters and the jobs (the ones in costume) are pretty hard to come by?

So instead of spreading the same old internet rumors, you should talk to people that actually work there and who know what is going on.

Personally, I think the whole Disneyworld thing is a waste of time--but it is a professionally run organization that would not put up with this garbage.

Methinks these guys are overreacting and looking to make a fast Mickey-dollar. Of course, i could be wrong.

You beat me to it. Those 'hands' are so large and cumbersome that Disney requests the kids bring large markers for the characters to use when signing autographs and sometimes they have assistants sign for them. It's not as if the dude could get a feel through all the foam and fake fur. Even if the pictures show Tigger with his hand dangling down over their chests, I'm not believing it. These folks are out to make a fast buck or two off Disney which will only increase the entrance costs for the rest of us.
