"'The fact that your car is being stolen isn't a legal justification for killing somebody,' Deputy District Attorney Frank Somes said."

I think I'll let a JURY of people made-up from this VICTIM's community be the judge of that you jerkoff, politcal opportunist moron.

"'Generally, you're not allowed to kill people unless they are committing a violent felony or you are acting in self defense.'"

Like OJ, huh?
Really with the LA DA's office prosecuting this place, this -- obviously hard working, responsible -- young VICTIM hasn't t thing in the world to be concerned with.

In fact, if it were me in this young man's shoes?
I'd be planning how much I was going to fleece the *citizen's* of LA County for charging me to start with after I'd been acquitted; which, is a slam-dunk.

Which assumes the average CA citizen is as SICK of the crime & criminals as I suspect they must be, by now?

Gaddddds it's not just LA politics that're screwed up.

...it's the whole damned state.

I've had so many possessions stolen from me in the course of my life I've lost count. Among them two motorcycles (one less than a month old), a car and thousands of $$$ worth of tools. If I ever catch a thief plying his trade, the last thing I'd consider doing is calling the Donut Patrol . . .

Not really. We had a situation here in Modesto a few years back where a homeowner discovered someone stealing his car, fired two rounds through the windshield at the perp, and then pulled the guys body out so he wouldn't bleed all over the upholstery. The only thing he received was a warning about moving bodies and disturbing crime scenes. In another situation a few years ago, another homeowner came home to find three unarmed teenage boys burgling and vandalizing his house. He opened fire and killed all of them, including one as he was running out the back door. Again, no prosecution.

The whole state isn't screwed up...just most of it.
