Its a bunch of recording commands and uses some algorithm to match up command with action. Kind of lame, spooky and weird.

So there is a built in delay in the system?

It seems to have a set of pre-programmed responses. A few things, like "adjust the thermostat," "phone home", and "bring out your dead" seem to get one of several "null" responses. but obvious ones like "jump," "watch tv," etc. get active responses.
