Don't you realize that Christians are irrelevant in the global picture? Those evil white male European conquerors were Christians. Therefore, the wholesale slaughter of Christians is not newsworthy, and should be regarded as just desserts for their evil forebears' rampaging. So they expected this but held the demonstrations anyway? Sounds to me like the organizers of these demonstrations are more to blame for these deaths than the Gov. I can sympathize with the demonstrators over their right to worship, but you don't step in front of a bullet unless you want to die. I think the organizers wanted innocent people to die.
