A few questions before FBI agent exits
A few highlights from this article:
I called Defenbaugh's office Friday -- the seventh anniversary of the bombing -- to ask about his sudden exit, but was told no comment.
Just a few questions, lest you head off into the Texas sunset before your work is done:
* What happened to the 22 affidavits that former TV reporter Jayna Davis submitted to the FBI through agent Dan Vogel on Jan. 28, 1999? Vogel reiterated again Friday that he had turned those documents over to the Oklahoma City office.
* Should those documents, which suggest McVeigh and Nichols were aided by foreign suspects, have been given to the defense? Were the Davis documents among the hundreds that the OIG report said had not been passed on by field offices because agents didn't feel they were "significant"?
* Though the OIG report found there was no intent to hide the Davis documents, were they among the evidence destroyed at 13 field offices after the investigation was concluded?
* Did the Justice Department have a valid right to refuse receipt of Davis' evidence on Sept. 8, 1997? Is it obstruction of justice to refuse to review information about possible participants in a terrorist attack ? Would such refusal be ill-advised or illegal?
* You previously said to me that Jayna Davis is a liar. Could you specify what she said that was untrue?
* Are you aware that the civil defamation case against Davis and Oklahoma City TV station KFOR, brought by Iraqi national and former Oklahoma City resident Hussain Alhussaini, was dismissed? A federal court upheld as undisputed all 50 statements of fact and opinion that implicated Alhussaini in the bombing of the Murrah Building
* Did you know that Alhussaini went to work at Boston's Logan International Airport, where two of the hijacked Sept. 11 flights originated, after he left Oklahoma City? Do you know his whereabouts now?
