Listen to Rush… (…discuss the mess that is Kerry's campaign and play Hillary screaming)
Now, I think the Kerry campaign needs some help, folks, because they can't get any traction out there. The Kerry campaign can't get noticed. It's so bad that Bush has pulled back some of his advertising dollars. They've concluded at the Bush campaign, We don't need to spend the money now. He's killing himself. We don't need to help spend our own money when he's out there destroying himself, or not at least helping himself. |

There's a story in the LA Times I think, that's not the reason the Bush campaign has withdrawn, or not withdrawn but they've cut back, their campaign spending, their TV buys by about 30%. And the story is, well, people aren't paying attention to the presidential campaign. And that's because of 9/11 commission. Well, okay, let's say that's true. If they're not paying attention to the presidential campaign who is more hurt by that? Kerry. He's the guy supposed to be ginning up all this excitement. He's the challenger. Bush is the guy everybody hates. And Bush is already president. So if there's no interest in the presidential campaign, I have to tell you it means nobody is interested in changing presidents. I don't care how you slice this for Kerry, and we're talking today -- I know things can change on a dime -- we're talking today, it looks bad.
Yesterday Kerry, ladies and gentlemen, was in Harlem at City College in Harlem, and Hillary was there and did an introduction of Kerry. I guess we can play that first. But that's not the story. Hillary associating with Kerry is the story, is a story, and it's a fascinating story; and we're going to get to that, too, but it's not the first thing off the bat.
What is it about these Democrats, they feel the need, they feel compelled to shout and yell? Here is Hillary Clinton introducing John Kerry yesterday.
HILLARY CLINTON: I give you the next president of the United States, Senator John Kerry! RUSH: Oh, gosh, that hurts, my friends. It reminds me of my first wife. Gee, it is just painful to hear this, and then she starts yelling everywhere -- Dawn, you can smile. [talking to staff member] She's in there shaking her head. She's here in a den of sexists, folks, and she puts up such a game front. Chauvenists, I should say. We're not sexists, we're male chauvinist pigs and we're happy to be because we think that's what men were destined to be. We think that's what women want. Anyway, so Kerry is at City College in Harlem, and there's nobody there! I mean the press pictures of this thing did the best they could, but there's nobody there! You know, any time a president these days or a candidate goes someplace and speaks, there's always a bunch of people sitting behind him. Not with Kerry yesterday, a bunch of empty folding chairs and some empty bleachers. And then when the camera panned to the whole crowd, it was empty. There were probably more reporters there than there were members of the public.
By the way, one quick thing. You know, there's a picture that you may have seen of Kerry sitting there reading books to children. Wait 'till you hear how that came about. Let me just tell you how that came about. He didn't want to do it. His campaign team said, "No, don't put him in there with a bunch of kids reading books. He might not look comfortable and at ease. He hasn't been around kids in a long time, don't do that." And the story is, the Clinton people insisted on it. |

That's all you need to hear from this story, somewhere here in the stack, it's coming up, the Hillary Clinton people insisted on it. Now, there is a picture, and I forgot to forward this to my -- yeah, he did tell the kids he was in Vietnam. He did. I got a picture sent to me last night and I didn't forward it to myself here, but it's a picture of Kerry sitting on the floor sitting like an Indian, you know, folded legs there sitting reading a book to kids, and Hillary is on a stool behind him, and she's looking -- folks, I'm telling you, there's only one conclusion that you can draw when looking at this particular picture, and that is that Hillary is looking at Kerry's rear end. Now, he's holding a book, and you say, okay, maybe she's looking over his shoulder at the book. But no, and you try to give him the benefit of the doubt. And you look, no, she's looking at his rear end. And my first reaction was, well, maybe she hasn't seen one in a while. And I said, no, she lives with one, or used to. So that can't be it. So the picture remains a mystery to me. I sent it to some people and tried to get them to use it, but nobody found it as intriguing and as interesting as I did.
Anyway, this thing at Harlem yesterday, what was noteworthy about it is that Kerry got heckled. He got heckled by a Democrat that hates. And this Democrat hates even Kerry or warned Kerry that he's going to be hated if he doesn't stop, shape up, and change his attitude and mind on Iraq. And I want you to hear this, and we'll get into the AP story that I don't know how it got past the editor yesterday, the likeability of John Kerry, and there isn't much. Done a story on -- he doesn't have much likeability out there, has no charisma, doesn't fire people up. And, let's see, "Kerry-Clinton relationship fraught with complexity." This is an American Spectator piece that mentions the Clinton people demanded he sit with the kids and reads the book.
And then Dick Morris is out there saying that Clinton is threatening Kerry with the release of his book this summer, this is at Page Six today. You have to love this stuff. Even if it's not true, it's believable. It's totally believable. Morris says that Clinton wants Hillary on the ticket. And he is promising Kerry that if he chooses Hillary he'll delay the publication of his book. If he doesn't choose Kerry, he'll go ahead and publish his book this summer and suck up all the oxygen so that Kerry doesn't get noticed. That's the basic upshot of it. There are a few more details, but all that in due course.
Brief time-out here, folks. We'll get into the audio sound bites of Kerry being heckled. And it's just interesting, he doesn't know how to deal with it, really. It's another voter and Kerry tries in essence to tell the guy you're stupid, you're not listening to what I'm saying. It's just classic. You know, you people in the Kerry campaign, keep real people away from this guy. He doesn't know how to deal with them. And now there's a big controversy raging over his wife who won't release her tax returns even though Kerry's been dumping on everybody in his whole career if they don't release theirs, and she's saying, "It's not his life, it's my life and I'm going to keep it separate. Screw you," something like that, to one of his campaign advisors. It's only starting to get fun, folks.

Contrast this with articles that have wondered where Bill and Hillary was since they said they'd 'live in Harlem'. The Clintons are full of crap.

No one in his right mind should pick Hillary as a running mate. The guy wouldn't live six months past his inauguration.

The only problem with here assertion here is that the foundation she runs is funding groups that attack Bush. SHE a big part of THIS political race, therefore she is accountable...period!

IMO the only reason Hillary would want to be picked as Kerry's veep for the 2004 election is so she could have a better chance at sabotaging his campaign. Again in my opinion I don't think she would settle for Vice President when she really wants to President. And if she was chosen this year and they, Kerry and Hillary, won(god forbid) she would still have to wait until 2012 to actually run for President. At which point she would be what, 64-ish?

Ping! for all their bluster and puffery, they are still in meltdown....and the Clintons are still running the show. Was there ever any question?
