Second Thoughts

Congressman Pat Toomey is giving incumbent Senator Arlen Specter heartburn. Scottish Law Specter has the endorsements of Rick Santorum and President Bush -- who really, really don't have a choice. They will, however, enthusiastically support Toomey if he should win. The latest polls have the tort lawyer leading Toomey. The Quinnipiac Poll has Specter ahead by 15 points while the New Survey USA poll of CERTAIN VOTERS shows Toomey trailing by a mere six points, 46-40.
Toomey has my unqualified endorsement. He's against letting a European Criminal Court have jurisdiction over our military. The left-wing liberal Specter is not.

After watching last week's debate in which Specter got confused and lost his place, I'm convinced Toomey has a vastly better shot at beating extreme liberal Joe Hoeffel this November.

Do you remember the fuss the Democrats and their buddies in the left-wing press made when U.S. Senator Trent Lott (R-Miss.) praised Strom Thurmond at the old segregationist's 100th birthday party? By golly, they were able to do the right thing and drum Lott right out of the exalted position of Majority Leader.
Now comes Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn) who eulogized Sen. Robert (Sheets) C. Byrd (D-W.Va.) when the old racist cast his 17,000th pork-ladened vote. Dodd had high praise for Byrd, who some colleagues call "Sheets." It goes back to his good old days as a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan.
Among the nice things Dodd said was, "He (Byrd) would have been right during the great conflict of Civil War in this Nation." This was viewed by most as a war to free the slaves.
The Democrats just keep driving nails into their coffin. Think of how much better America would be if both parties kept their houses clean.

The Democrats wanted National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice placed on the hot seat to answer questions about 9/11. They should know by now to be careful what they ask for. Condi knocked everything they threw at her right out of the park.
There is now talk about running her for President in 2008. Is the country ready for a black woman president? The brilliant classy lady has my vote.

Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, talking about Kerry's two marriages to wealthy women, was quoted in the Boston Herald: "He's not kidding when he says he's going after the rich."

Dodd ought to be expelled.
Dittos. Me too.
