King Abdullah: Al-Qaida WMDs Came From Syria

Jordan's King Abdullah revealed on Saturday that vehicles reportedly containing chemical weapons and poison gas that were part of a deadly al-Qaida bomb plot came from Syria, the country named by U.S. weapons inspector David Kay last year as a likely repository for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

"It was a major, major operation. It would have decapitated the government," King Abdullah told the San Francisco Chronicle. Jordanian officials estimated that the death count could have been as high as 20,000 - seven times greater than the Sept. 11 attacks.

King Abdullah said that trucks containing 17.5 tons of explosives had come from Syria, though he took pains not to implicate Syrian President Bashir Assad in the al-Qaida plot, saying, "I'm completely confident that Bashir did not know about it."

In his testimony before Congress last year, weapons inspector Kay said U.S. satellite surveillance showed substantial vehicular traffic going from Iraq to Syria just prior to the U.S. attack on March 19, 2003.

While Kay said investigators couldn't be sure the cargo contained weapons of mass destruction, one of his top advisers described the evidence as "unquestionable."

"People below the Saddam-Hussein-and-his-sons level saw what was coming and decided the best thing to do was to destroy and disperse," said James Clapper in comments reported by the New York Times on Oct. 29. Clapper heads the National Imagery and Mapping Agency.

Israeli intelligence has long believed that after the U.S. delayed invasion plans to allow U.N. weapons inspectors time to search for Iraq's WMDs, Saddam moved the banned weapons to Syria, the only other country ruled by the Ba'ath Party.

Ok. That's your opinion.

Here's my opinion:

I'm completely confident Bashir did know all about it.

WHO caught them 75 miles from the Syrian border? Does this have something to do with the US firefight, also near the Syrian border?

We need personnel in the intelligence community with "Intestinal Fortitude" and not "PC"'mentality.
This would also be a very good time to bring back the Neutron Bomb w/ upgrades on the low yield side(.25ktw - 1 ktw size). Identify communities (Syria) and test the upgrades.

Israeli intelligence has been right more than most! Now maybe a war between Jordan and Syria?

Leaders want their sovereign immunity from harm. Since pre-history, leaders are not above the war, except among gentlemen and kooks. Islam's war crimes tactics demand that Civilization negotiates with extreme prejudice.

WMD shall be discovered upon their use against millions of infedels.

This attack was 100% foreseeable. Iraq's WMDs were shipped to Syria (birthplace of the Bath Party) where they are being distributed to al Qaeda operatives. We should announce strongly to Syria that any use of WMDs on American soil will result in the total nuclear destruction of Damascus.

F'emall, every-damn-one of them!

When I consider that we are over two years into a shooting war started by the incineration of 3000 Americans on our own soil, and continue to hear the Democrats braying about "no WMDs" after the evidence about our enemies mounts and is blithely disregarded, and see and hear the Democrats act as if the whole thing was fabricated or that it was completely unnecessary, and listen to the Democrats insist that things would be better if the UN ran the operation (a group including every one of our implacable enemies) I am convinced that the asinine and downright insane Democrat half of this country wouldn't even consider going to war in self defense if New York itself had been wiped out by a nuclear attack.

These "people", the Democrats, are beyond redemption. It is absolutely dumbfounding the there are so many of them at this point in time, and that they're not completely discredited and marginalized.

...And JohnEffinKerry is ahead in the polls!

This story was finally reported on Fox News this morning.

If this story has any legs at all, and it does appear to, then it should be in the process of being reported all across the globe.

I will now wait for the alphabet press to begin the reports....

I'm waiting...

Still waiting...

Yep, still waiting...

The alphabet press does not report it because they are too busy reporting verbatim "talking points" issued by the Democratic Party. Thank God there are independent reporters on the Web reporting the real news!

Take a peek at this popular War Issues Forum where a few other Freepers may visit. I'm just sick and tired of nay-sayers trashing President Bush.

Also, I just discovered that all AP news reports have a forum link below their reports. This morning I discovered over 40,000 posts on one breaking news report alone.

Just identify a Kurdish group hostile to the Baathist government and feed them arms. Two can play this subversive game and so far the Kurds have proved reliable alllies.

insane Democrat half of this country wouldn't even consider going to war in self defense if New York

I disagree. The Democrats aren't in the least bit anti-war. The only thing they're concerned about is, "How can we get the White House back?"

The day 9/11 happened, the first thing they surely said to themselves is, "Wow!! Look at that! Do you suppose we can use this somehow to get the White House back?"

When Dubya sent our troops to Afghanistan and then later to Iraq, they said to themselves, "Yes! Yes! Yes! Surely these will become Quagmires! Bush will be out and we'll control the White House again! Maybe evem Congress!"

When Fallujah and the al-Sadr strongholds blew up recently, you just know for a fact that the Democrats privately exulted, "Yes! American deaths by the handful! By the dozens! By the scores! (Maybe soon by the thousands?? Oh please! Oh please!) Young Americans dying by the boatload. Hey - over here! Point the camera at me. I'm about to shed my best Crocodile Tears over these meaningless deaths caused by The Insane Cowboy in the White House - the very same White House that is our birthright and that he stole from us."

And, if, in the week before the November election, al Qaeda manages to nuke a major US city, the Democrats will fall on their knees in prayer and say, "Yes! There really IS a God! Thank you thank you thank you, God! How could we have ever doubted your existence? Now it is guaranteed for 100% certain that George W. Bush is Toast --- just as much as that poor city is!"

BOTTOM LINE: Democrats are no more anti war than the rest of us. Rather, they see War just the same as any other issue that involves our national survival. They ask themselves how they can demagogue the issue in order to politically profit from it, even at the expense of our country's safety. They are not into politics for the sake of our country. They are into politics for the sake of themselves only.

I don't follow your argument. You grant that the Democrats have done everything they could to use 911 against Bush, including voting against the war and the funds to support it, and would let millions in New York perish in a nuclear attack, all the while disingenuously crying over shed blood. And would continue their past policies of gutting the military and our intelligence agencies. Yet you somehow conclude that this doesn't indicate that the Democrats are against war generally, or the war on terror in particular.

I think you've been swallowing too much twisted, conspiracy-minded, and illogical Democrat propaganda. The record shows, indeed, that the Democrats will sacrifice the people of this country to advance their designs of aligning with the internationalists of Europe and the UN, and surrendering our national sovereignty. And that includes a policy of appeasement and inaction in the face of attack, just like the French and, now, the Spanish. This has already happened! And I see nothing advocated by their candidates that make me think otherwise.

My point is that the Democrats as a whole are not intrinsically anti-war. It is not one of their core beliefs. Their own self-interest - even at the expense of our country - is really their only genuine core belief.

When a Democrat is in the White House, they are not anti-war. They could care less that Clinton sent our forces over to Bosnia-Herzogovina in early 1993 with the promise that they'd be home by Christmas, only to still have them there years later. They could care less that he sent the Monica Missiles over to blow up a pharmaceuticals factory. They no doubt applauded his master stroke - of distracting media attention away from the blue dress DNA test results coming out that day. They were certainly not anti-war back then. They were not anti-war when the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade was accidentally bombed.

Don't you get it? Bombs dropped by Democrat Presidents are GOOD bombs. They are moral bombs. Even when a few miss and kill the innocent, that's OK because they were well-intentioned bombs sent by a Democrat.

Bombs dropped by Republicans are, by definition, BAD bombs. They are evil bombs. They are NOT well-intentioned. How could they be, when they are sent by a Republican President? Any innocent lives mistakenly taken by these bombs are to be treated with instant outrage and Crocodile Tears.

The bottom line is that, when a Democrat is in the White House in control of the military, then the Democrats are PRO-war. But when a Republican President is calling the shots, then they are ANTI-war. It's not a core issue at all. It's just another stick to use to bash Republicans - just one more issue to perform a complete 180 on every time the White House changes hands.

One of the most revealing quotes to ever drop from the mouth of a Leftist occurred in January 1993. (Wish I'd clipped the article and saved it.) There are a number of inaugural traditions faithfully observed every 4 years (even by Democrats!), and one of these is a short ceremony at Arlington to honor the fallen. During this ceremony, Air Force jets fly by with one plane missing from the formation to symbolize the war dead. The entire town of Hollywood, CA was empty that week as its denizens were all in DC to celebrate the coronation of someone of their ilk. Some leftist Hollywood actor - I think it was Alec Baldwin but am not sure - was with the Clinton party at Arlington. Afterwards he talked to a reporter, saying something along these lines --- "When the jets flew by, I at first cringed at this ugly display of military power. But then, I suddenly brightened up as the thought occurred to me that, 'Hey! Those are OUR jets now!!'"

Just think about that last quote for awhile.
