I thought he was a Catholic. Surely they are supposed to tithe also.Are you referring to the Bible? Because, unless you're under The Law -- e.g. circumcision, pork ban, etc. -- rather than under grace, I don't find a Biblical requirement for tithing.
Maybe that's all Kerry can give and still remain "cheerful."

I tithe because I am under Grace, which is much more stringent than the Law, as it deals with the heart. It is the matter of supporting the work of God and commitment. I don't look for loopholes.
Grace versus the Law is an interesting discussion, but this is probably not the place or the time.
