The sick bastard that abducted her and scarred her only got 10 years? He should be dead.

He better hope he isn't found...
Someone could beat his ass to death in the middle of Tian An Men Square with a brick, and once the case goes public, Chinese courts would find the person doing the beating not guilty.
Chinese version of justice isn't always the same as the American version...

I originally wasn't going to post this, but it 1. made me mad, and 2. showed that there are good people everywhere.

I kid you not, I heard a (true) story about a punishment once doled out in China.
The guy got into a fight with his (ex) girlfriend and ended up pouring acid on her face...
The Chinese courts sentenced the guy to not one, but 5 shots. They shot him once in each limb (not fatal but hurt like hell, especially with a dum dum 9mm), taking about 15 minutes between shots. After each shot they made the guy stand back up at the end of the firing range and take his like a man.
The 5th shot was right in the back of the head.
Of course its all considered human rights violations, but since when has that stopped anyone?

Sometimes I do like the way the Chinese government meats out punishment on criminals :)

Think about it... an hour and fifteen minute long execution....

To think they got in a tissy here when Ole Sparky cooked that prisoner in Florida.

Again, another story...
This was obviously a few years back, but from my understanding it happened...
There was a drug ring in a major city of China...
The authorities initially didn't do anything...or so it seemed. They just sat back watching and gathering evidence for about a year.
They got their spies inside and listed names and whatever else of those involved.
After about a year it came down to the final crackdown. All they did was go around kicking in doors and dragging people out of wherever they happened to be at that time. It was literally a couple of thousand people.
About half were sentenced to labor camp.
The other half (after about a half hour trial, in some cases in groups) were sent to a stadium where they (several hundred) were all executed all in one day.
The saying on the street in China is that there is no such thing as a repeat offender.

Hour... hour and fifteen... 45 minutes... all get the point across...

I think both of those stories were back in the early 1980s.
Now though China has changed, just a little in this respect. I mean very little in some instances. In other cases they are trying to be more fair than they have in the past.
Before they would shoot you for talking about Mao, which that of course has changed A LOT. Now you can tell the governor to take a hike with little problems.
If you are a violent criminal in China though, they will mess you up.

No way, that MUST be an urban legend, it sounds so Talibanesque

You have to be kidding me. Why would you even ask a question like that? I am not Chinese, I have no tatoos, and I SURE the he** wouldn't be putting them on anyone. That is directly from the article.
Maybe I am misinterpreting your question...
