April 23, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - On Earth Day, Democrat John Kerry reluctantly admitted to having a gas-guzzling SUV in the family - but blamed his wife. "The family has it. I don't have it," Kerry said yesterday.
But at first, Kerry - quizzed by reporters on a conference call - tried to deny any links to a gas-guzzler on a day when he was touting his credentials as an environmentalist.

This whole anti-SUV business is one of Rush's most impressive "see, I told you so" moments. When he first proposed it years ago I thought he was crazy for thinking the enviornmental wacko's would attack my favorite form of transportation. Alas, it's now part of presidential politics.
(My SUV gets 28 mpg)

I'm pretty sure they had the fire hydrant in front of their Beacon Hill manse moved in order to park their Jeep Grand Cherokee.I could be wrong on the model but it sure wasn't for a Chrysler.
