He would be the worst Commander-in-Chief in the history.
That's a tough one. I think a very good case can be made for the entire rise of Islamofacism to be laid at the feet of The Peanut President, who sabotaged Middle East modernity by stabbing the Shah of Iran in the back. There's probably no way to accurately measure how much damage the Peanut President did to the entire world.
On the other hand, in the person of such a dedicated leftist of JFnK, and given the fact that the Islamofacists probably will be getting their hands on WMD at some point (maybe already), there is a good chance that JFnK will be even worse than The Peanut President as amazing and as horrible as that may be.
One thing that is certain: JFnK would certainly be worse than the Buffoon King Klintoon.

President Jimmy Carter is well-known for his sensitivity toward the needs, ideas, and military strategies of enemies of the United States and for his incompetence and lack of courage in handling the emergence of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I know not of anyone, however, who can level substantial accusations against Carter that he committed sedition or treason, or publicly or even privately wished or hoped for the defeat of American soldiers.
I understand that he recognized and felt deeply troubled by his failures, and often stayed awake well into the night attempting to micromanage his way around these problems. Carter attempted to retaliate against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan by imposing a trade embargo and boycotting the Moscow Olympics. Although both of these measures did considerable harm to ordinary Americans, I seriously doubt that he intended this result.
On the other hand, Kerry will threaten war with our enemies--but only subject to the permission of the most inept warriors on Earth. Even if he sends troops, he will render them about as potent as the French by denying them necessary equipment and supplies. He will disdain their mission in one of his eternal flip-flops, and eventually order them returned home, forcing them to abort the most critical part of their mission, as if in surrender, ultimately doing net harm to American interests.
I hope that nothing in the previous paragraph is true, especially if Kerry is elected. Although I fear that I probably have understated what might happen, I do not believe that my predictions ever shall be put to the test.
