The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us in our nation's capital for the Sixth Annual Freep of the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) Dinner next Saturday.
When: Saturday, May 1, 4 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m.
What: The D.C. Chapter's Sixth Annual Freep of the White House Correspondents Association Dinner.
Location: Outside the Washington Hilton, Connecticut Avenue and T Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
Our most fun protest every year. This is your chance to tell the mainstream media to their faces what you think about their biased reporting. You'll also be able to meet and thank those reporters who do their job like it should be done.
In past FReeps of the WHCA dinner, FReepers have spotted the great including Peggy Noonan, Matt Drudge, and Ann Coulter and the not-so-great such as James Carvile.
A separate thread will be posted for voting on "awards" to the press, similar to last year's quite successful Garafalo (plate of crow) awards.
The theme for this year's protest is that the media's distorted coverage is getting our troops killed.
D.C. Chapter rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect. Full rules can be found here (click at this spot).

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic held its fourth annual freep of the White House Correspondents Association Dinner last night at the Washington Hilton. Fourteen FReepers and lurkers braved the cold rain outside the hotel to ridicule the pompous media elite as they arrived for the dinner and to condemn the liberal bias in their reporting.

The highlight of the freep was seeing our friends Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter and Peggy Noonan come walking up the sidewalk together towards us from the direction of Dupont Circle. The trio looked like the new Mod Squad: Matt wore his trademark fedora and dark sunglasses to go with his tux, Ann was stunning in her beautiful black dress and Peggy looked elegant with a cape draped around her shoulders and tinted spectacles perched on her lovely face...CLICK HERE for the rest of that thread
